Bruins win a defensive struggle in the rain in Berkeley, defeating the Cal Bears 10-7. Pretty sloppy game all around but Im just glad to get out of there with the win.

If I'm not able to get to my game in the morning, I'll have to play it later than 10 tomorrow night. I have work all day, and then a basketball referees meeting an hour away from me.

Oklahoma took care of business on the road against Iowa State. In the third quarter the second string offense went in for the Sooners to get some experience. They were not able to be productive and turned the ball over a couple of times. Coach uscsux didn't like what he saw after Iowa State converted on the turnovers and put the first string back in. The Sooners went back to work and blew away Iowa State at home.

Coach uscsux is making good on his promise to win out after a terrible loss to Texas. Oklahoma has not loss since their loss to Texas and are looking to finish at least second in the Big 12.

This was a strange, strange game. The Ducks were absolutely dominant thru the first 3 quarters and then a furious Sun Devil comeback made this a game again. The Ducks had a comfortable 41-21 lead when the wheels fell off, a Sun Devil td followed by a horrible option pitch by Darron Thomas that was picked off for a td and another normal interception which led to a ASU td and we had a ball game. Fortunately, the ASU kicker choked and missed the extra point, leaving the score tied at 41. The Ducks drove down the field with about 2 minutes left and kicked the go ahead field goal to seal the deal. Darron Thomas had a really great game, accounting for well over 300 total yards and 4 total tds.

After falling behind 9-0 in the first half, Ohio State scores 41 unanswered points. Pryor throws first 2 picks of the year also :(

Texas A&M had a 10-7 lead in the third qtr when a huge 3rd down completion set Nebraska up for the go ahead score. An interception with 3:30 to go cut down an Aggie rally, and then the Huskers drove the field with relentless precision to seal the game. A late td attributed to the final margin.

    *Some notes of interest:

For the first time ever I was VERY frustrated with the allotted time to pick a defensive play. Back to back time outs in the first half to get the correct personnel on the field to make a stop, and 3 times in the second half I was less than a split second away WHILE pressing the button. 2 of those 5 DID NOT even allow me 5 seconds to make a call!!!!!!!!!!!! Most notably the 3rd down and 13 play in the 3rd qtr that they completed for about 50 because I decided not to take a time out to save a long 3rd down. I was up 10-7 and that play ended in a man alignment where I wanted to put 3 deep and it didn't happen due to the lack of time. FIVE TIMES I SAY!!!

Also, I was talking with my wife and failed to recognize that I was exiting the game, while I was trying to save the best catch a wr has made for my team, when in the first half Jeff Fuller hauled in a 9 yard bullet in the back of the end zone, off balance, with 1 hand while keeping his feet. Awesome play, missed because of my not paying attention. DOH! They also had some ridiculous endzone catches I hadn't seen before that were sweet.
