I have QB locked in, and RB will be by committee again this season. WR spots have not changed, and IR Kris Buerck (graduated) will be replaced by Josh Gordon. The offensive line did a little position juggling in the offseason, and should be at least solid again this season. The "other" Robert Griffin moved from RG to LT to replace departed SR Danny Watkins. The defensive line just needed to replace DT Phil Taylor (big shoes to fill), but SR Nicolas Jean-Baptiste should fill in nicely. I did lose a lot of talent at the LB spot, but again some depth was able to fill the holes. Chris McAllister, who played my Dime LB last season, takes over at MLB. Rodney Chadwick moves to ROLB, and starts alongside McAllister and returning starter Elliot Coffey. At CB, Chance Casey again returns as the top corner, and Tyler Stephenson slides into the #2 spot after playing in the Nickel most of last season. Denerick Denby and Prince Kent fill out the defensive backfield. Special teams look like crap with a punter that may not be able to get it past his own line, but we are in luck, because K Ben Parks should be able to do double duty.

All in all, the season outlook is good, as the returning starters are many, and there was some great improvement at skill positions. It also looks like I have two All-American defensive lineman heading up the defense. We will rely heavily on those two to be the tip of the spear that is our defensive attack. On offense, Griffin needs to minimize the turnovers, and maximize his legs. He is over a year removed from recovery, and offseason training went well for him. It is amazing to me that somebody like him could get faster, but that is what happened. His accuracy also improved, and his top two receivers had a significant improvement. This bodes well for an offense that needs to produce this season.

Surprise out of Ann Arbor, redshirt freshman Devin Gardner has won the starting quarterback job for the Wolverines and looked good in his collegiate debut as #11 Michigan downed #22 Oregon.

After adjusting to sliders and gameplay towards the end of the season I've switched the way I'm running my offense. Tate Forcier went down and I did fairly well with Denard Robinson. His inaccuracy did contribute to my blowout loss at Ohio State, but a lot of that was my fault and just plain bad decision-making. Gardner and Robinson are essentially the same player, but Robinson is a junior, the minute loss in accuracy, and loss of awareness are not enough to keep me from starting Gardner who will be my starter for the next 3 years hopefully. I just have to know the limitations and take sacks instead of forcing throws. Game 1 of the experiment went well, so we shall see.
