Oh my. Glad you asked! Actually, you are to create your draft list in the game. I posted some links in the last advance thread. This thread is just to get a head start. Under no circumstances would I advise auto pick until at least round 4 or 5. Id recommend a list
Well apparently that trade did not work with the Orioles. The two players I wanted, and hoped would still be there at #4 were both selected.
When we make out selections, can the team quote the draft list and add the player you drafted in the list so we know who's been taken.
Ill do one better... Ill update the original post with this information after each pick. Hopefully Dylema shows up, don't you know each other outside of the game?
Oddly enough, the pitcher that I fell in love with is still out there. And apparently no one else wants him.
To be a SP, I would recommend a stamina of at least 4, but 2-3 will get you 5 innings. But 3 pitches is mandatory if he wants to succeed Unless you meant to make the roster, then yes, hes a good one.
No, the higher their ratings the better. I was helping you out. You said "this guy will be a starter in a few weeks." Did you mean a starting pitcher or a starter on your team? If you meant a starting pitcher, id recommend what I said earlier. If you meant a starter on your team, the higher the actual ratings (not potential) the better. Does that make sense?
Well yeah, but from conversations with people in skype and PMs and stuff, I don't think he's gonna go for a few more picks.
yea I meant as a starting pitcher by those # his potential looks like he would start in Pen and then develop into an SP
ahh i didn't go into the player page.. i was just looking at the all players, movement, control, stuff, stamina.. but here is his page.. http://traditionsportsonline.com/tso-ootp/reports/html/players/player_32664.html
Ok. He's a very, very good MR. His control needs to develop at least to a 5 before he will be competent as a major leaguer. He will never be a starting pitcher unless he develops a 3rd pitch. Even with above average stamina. Guys develop much better by putting up better stats, which prospects have a better chance of doing this in the minor leagues. If you bring him to your major league team from the get-go and he gets shelled, his development will stall or not happen at all. And the chances of him reaching those 10/8/10 potentials are slim to none. Performance, morale, work ethic, injuries, intelligence all factor into development. And im pretty sure there is some hidden stuff in tehre too. Im sure with his work ethic and intelligence he may be ready in a couple of in game months, maybe sooner.
Exactly. Each team already has $7.5 million in their budgets for this. Anything outside of that, is added to your expenses
