Oregon squeaks past USC to claim 2nd straight PAC 12 title

This year the PAC 12 Conference Championship game was played in blizzard conditions. The snow dictated the way both teams started off. The first half was mostly conservative running plays and the score showed that at the half. Oregon led 6-3 as each team was only able to kick FGs. The second half was a little different for USC. Coach niuhuskie224 came out on the first possession in the 3rd quarter and had Matt Barkley hit George Farmer on a 60 yard bomb to give the Trojans a 10-6 lead. Oregon would not score again until the 4th quarter. The Ducks were able to stop USC on 4th and goal. They took over on the 3 yard line and drove the length of the field. Kenjon Barner capped this long drive with a 2 yard TD. On the next drive Matt Barkley was sacked by Michael Clay and lost the ball. Bo Lokombo scooped it up and returned it 32 yards to put Oregon up 20-10. The Trojans were then able to use another deep pass to pull within 3. This time Barkley hit Butler for a 41 yard score. The Ducks then were able to use another long time consuming drive to get inside the 5. With time running out they decided to go for it on 4th and goal to put the game away. USC came up big and stopped the pitch play to take over on downs. They had one last chance to get revenge for last season's defeat in the conference championship game. Matt Barkley was able to move to around midfield before he threw an interception to Cliff Harris to end the game.

Oregon will now wait to see who they play in the BCS National Championship Game. It should be Michigan but Baylor could sneak it with only 1 loss.

    Key Stats:

    Kenjon Barner - 16 carries 72 yards 1 TD
    Michael Clay - 7 tackles 2 TFLs 1 sack 1 FF
    Bo Lokombo - 1 tackles 1 FR 1 TD

Great game man and a perfect recap. Can't wait for the rematch next season.
