    Gators Win Take 2!!!

The Gators are once again SEC Champs. They played a tough Auburn team and came out on top in an extremely close game.

The story of the game was fumbles. UF punt returner Frankie Hammond Jr got stripped inside his own 20 by coach Noles user strip and the Tigers recovered. Giving them a short field to work with, they found the end zone.

The game continued back and forth until middway through the 4th quarter when UF forced a fumble with Auburn in the red zone. UF would recover and drive the length of the field setting up what would be the game winning TD on 3rd and 6 with under a minute remaining.

Hard fought game. Great game from Auburn and I'm sure they'll get another crack at the SEC again soon.

The Tigers and Gators have both ruined each others season this year but at least the Gators got to hoist the hardware in the end.

The Gators will be rooting big time for a VaTech win in the ACC CG and hoping the pollsters show them some love for knocking off the #2 team in the country and maybe they can sneak in the backdoor of the National Championship game. Fingers crossed. Legend has it, Urban Meyer is extremely good at lobbying. See 2006 for an example.

    ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

    #1 Clemson - 45
    #8 Virginia Tech - 21

Despite what Clemson players and coaches were telling the media, the Tigers came in to this game nervous - and with good reason. QB Kyle Parker, who guided the Tigers to a convincing win in week 8 over VT, has been sidelined since week 9. Also, RW Sweetness, held out under mysterious circumstances in week 8, was front and center in the Hokie lineup for the conference championship.

Virginia Tech got the ball first and had no problem moving down the field to take a quick 7-0 lead. Clemson responded and the score was tied up at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, QB Antone Exum, who is still nursing an injury, threw some ill advised passes and the Clemson offense responded to score 21 in the second quarter to go in to half with a 28-14 lead. In the third, VT capitalized off an errant pass by Clemson QB Tajh Boyd and scored - taking advantage of good field position. With the score 28-21, Clemson scored again thanks to a fantastic run by QB Tajh Boyd as he broke multiple tackles for a 31-yard run to put the Tigers in position to score. Down by 14 in the fourth, the Hokies were forced to pass and the Clemson defense stood strong to preserve the win. The Clemson defense was the story of the game, as they intercepted the Hokies 6 times on the day. Armed with a strategy to stop the option and Dyrell Roberts at all costs, the gamble paid off. Roberts, who torched the Tigers in week 8, had only 1 reception for 3 yards. A lot of press was given to RW Sweetness playing both ways this game but Clemson did a great job of containing the Hokies star RB, who finished with a disappointing 39 yards rushing and 0 tackles. It was a good game Hokie Effect - the CPU defenders made some nice plays for me and that was the difference in the game.
