"Nebraska named it's new coach today after a freak accident on his corn detassling tractor forced the old cornhusker coach to step down. Coach Hova was named the new head coach and looks forward to bringing the cornhuskers back to glory and prominence. Hova had this to say: "It's a great day to coach in Nebraska, we are ranked, ready for the challenge of the big twelve, and this line-backing core is by far the best I have ever seen. Should be a great season for us!."

" The corn-huskers welcomed the yellow jackets into a rainy Memorial Stadium today to what turned out to be a thriller of a game. Nebraska came out hot scoring the first 2 TD's one being a strike to WR Tillman for a 14 YD TD with a great catch to bring the ball in.

However, the yellow jackets quickly turned it around with a fumble recovery for a TD and 2 scores on offense. Nebraska found themselves down once more until QB Spano hit D. Tillman on a huge 83 YD pass that was caught off of the CB tip for a TD.

The jackets fired back with one more score but then coach Hova looked to his run game to close the deal. HB Ward had 2 big TD's late in the game, one which was the final dagger as he broke a tackle on the goal line and ran the game winning TD in with 12 ticks left on the clock.

" The corn-huskers welcomed the Jay Hawks into Memorial Stadium today for what would be the season opener in the Big 12.
The Cornhuskers kicked off first and immediately forced the Jay Hawk offense to a 3 and out. On the ensuing drive the corn huskers marched down the field on the legs of HB Ward and the arm of QB Spano and scored a TD. They repeated this again on their next drive jumping out to a quick 14-0 lead. The game got out of hand late in the 2nd QTR when CB D. Reese stepped in front of a pass and took it back to the house for six.

After this things only got worse for the Kansas offense. They threw yet again another pick six on a screen pass that was read perfectly by SS C. Osborne.

The dominance continued all game long by the Husker defense until they finally gave up a TD late in the 4th QTR to the Kansas HB. The Offense was powered on the legs of the HB duo of HB L. Ward and HB J. Burton, who both rushed for well over 100 Yds. QB K Spano had a perfect day threw the air going 11 for 11 in the passing game.

L. Ward capped of the game with a dive over the goal line for his 2nd TD of the game. "

Hova had this to say after the game: "We played great today, that 3-4 defense is vicious. I loved the way the defense attacked the ball. The offense was also perfect to. Our run game was efficient and our QB had a perfect game not missing on any passes. Let's hope we can continue this play throughout our big 12 schedule."

" The Cornhuskers headed to Lubbock, Texas to take on the red raiders in a Big 12 Matchup. Nebraska's defense came out prepared starting off the game forcing a 3 and out on the tech offense. Disaster then struck on the ensuing punt when returner L. Ward muffed the punt allowing Tech to recover.

"Tech scored a FG capitalizing off of the Nebraska muff.

Nebraska's offense responded well to the miscues and put together two scoring drives in the first half with a TD coming from each HB. Tech responded with a TD of their and headed into the half with the score 14-10.

Nebraska came out hot in the second half and hit it big with a wideopen TD pass for 52 Yards from QB Spano to WR. B.Robinson.

"Robinson tosses the ball to the mascot after a big score"

The defense stayed strong not allowing Tech to score at all until the 4th QTR. They forced 3 INTs and many sacks one of which set the record for all time sacks at Nebraska by DE Josh Williams. Tech ended up scoring 2 quick TDs at the end but the combination of the Nebraska running game and Turnovers by the defense allowed the Huskers to come away with the W.

" The Cornhuskers welcomed the Baylor Bears into a packed memorial stadium for a game that would be dictated by a once again turnover savy defense and a strong running game for the Cornhuskers. Baylor looked strong early coming out with full field drive that resulted in a 1 YD td pass by QB B. Petty. Things then quickly turned south for Baylor as CB M. Wallace stepped infront of a Baylor pass taking it 74 Yds to the house for a TD.

"Sophomore CB Matt Wallace gets his first career pick 6"

After falling into hole from the pick 6 Baylor again stumbles after QB Petty gets crushed and fumbles. The fumble was picked up by DT Robert Kaplan and returned 28 yards for another Nebraska defensive touchdown.

"True freshman DT Robert Kaplan also gets his first taste of scoring in his career"

The game was pretty much sealed after that point as the Bears could not get anything going on offense. They were shut down the remainder of the game thanks to hard nose defense and clock control by the Nebraska Offense.

"The defense kept the Bears in check all day with hard hits and sure tackles"

Coach Hova's Remarks: "We played a great game, i was slightly worried after the first drive but I knew our defense would pull through. The turnovers are letting us dominate games, we are protecting the ball on offense and taking it on defense. Let's see if we can keep this level of play up throughout the Big 12 season."

"WR K. Cooper catches the 67 YD TD in perfect stride from QB K. Spano."

"Nebraska headed to Kansas St to take on the wildcats in another Big 12 Conference game. The defense started out stout holding the cats to only 3 points all half and also producing a Safety in the 2nd Quarter. The Nebraska had their flow all day on offense with the running game producing 157 Yards and 4 TDs. They also found their vertical attack for the first time all year with K. Spano hitting many WRs deep including TE B. Cotton. The running pounded the game out late with the backups coming in to relieve the Nebraska Starters. The Huskers move to 4-0 in conference and look to keep their streak going next week against Mizzou.

"QB K. Spano throws a laser over the zone for the quick TD"

"On a cold windy (15mph) day at Memorial Stadium the Huskers welcomed ranked division foe Missouri for a rival clash. Things started out quick for the Huskers with a laser pass from QB K. Spano to WR D. Tillman. The defense shut down the Mizzou offense and continued all day. The 3-4 based defense was flying all over the field, knocking down passes, delivering the wood, and making big plays on the ball.

"SS C. Osborne continues his great season with another pick 6 Saturday."

Things continued to go Nebraska's way all day as they dominated through the air and on the ground. They found the starters getting rest by mid 3rd QTR.

"QB K. Spano breaks the scoring drought with an 11 Yd TD run"

"The Huskers continued their dominate defensive streak by shutting out yet another Big 12 opponent in Iowa St on Saturday. The game started off slow with both team's trading 3 and outs. Nebraska finally sustained a long drive and capped it off with a TD Run by QB K. Spano for the first play of the 2nd quarter. The defense shut down Iowa St all day allowing -1 rushing yards and forcing 6 sacks which were all coverage sacks as Hova did not call one blitz all afternoon. Ward had another great day on the ground going over 100 yards. The passing game was also great to minus 2 INTs thrown by spano. The backups saw more playing time today in the 3rd Quarter. Nebraska heads to Norman next week to take on Masler and his explosive sooner offense. Hopefully the defense can keep up it's great play for the pivotal Big 12 matchup.

"SS C Osborne gets a huge INT in the red one stalling the Sooners"

"The Huskers traveled to Norman this week to take on Coach Masler's Sooners. What started out as a great game trading scores throughout the first half, the tide then changed to the huskers side as they forced multiple interceptions giving the ball back to the dangerous Nebraska offense. HB Ward had a huge day going for 200 yards and 3 TDs. QB Spano was also very efficient finding the open WR's all day long. "After finishing the regular season in perfection the Husker now must head to the Big 12 championship game to take on the Texas Longhorns for the Big 12 title and a slim hope at the BCS Title Game. It is more than likely if they win that they will still not make the jump so they will see a perfect season end at the fiesta bowl, but coach Hova is still more than happy with what his guys have accomplished and Is looking to complete the job by bringing home a Big 12 title. "Nebraska destroys Texas in the Big 12 Champ game claiming thier second big 12 title in a row. The Husker QBs were perfect all day going 100% on completions. The defense was stout as well led by SS Osborne with 2 INTs. QB K Spano gets the gameball throwing for 5 TDs and 11/11 on attempts. Nebraska now waits for their fate from the BCS after an undefeated season. The most likely scenario looks like a trip to the Fiesta Bowl.

"QB K. Spano finally finds TE Cotton for the big TD pass."

"The Huskers took to the fiesta bowl to complete their quest for a perfect season. They were some very low points in the game but at the end the team pulled out the victory. The biggest story of the day was QB K. Spano throwing SIX interceptions throughout the course of the game. Even through his struggles he still managed to lead the Huskers to victory with 4 TD passes. Mackey winner TE Cotton was shutdown all first half until the Huskers finally found him on offense. He made some huge plays and got the offense moving positive once again. The huskers pulled away at the end taking the crown of Fiesta Bowl Champs. A great end to a perfect season. Hova couldn't be anymore happier with the performance of his team and can only hope he can get a shot at the title next year, a shot that his team truly deserved."

Congrats on finishing the perfect season. Who knows maybe EA will split the polls and you'll get a share of the title? Not sure if that's possible in this game or not.

Rutgers is tough, I lost to them late last year and struggled with them for 2.5 quarters to open this season. A 19-0 4th quarter after going into it down 21-20 is a great way to finish the year.

Ha ya they really shook my QB up, I had no problems with him throwing pics until this game, 6 of them, couldn't believe it.
