Boulder, CO-- The rain wasnt the only thing blanketing the field in Boulder this first Saturday of the 2012 college football season. The Florida State Seminole defense completely shut down and shut out the Colorado Buffalos, 37-0 at Folsom Field. Next week, the 'Noles take on #4 Tennessee at the Doak.

TE Isaiah Barnes, 6'6" 249 lbs could play FB if need be for the Noles next season and be used as the 3rd TE in certain formations

DE Kyle King, 6'4", 208 lbs. Cant really see him playing DE but we liked his athletic abililty. Could move to linebacker or even a safety position. Time will tell.

Tallahassee, FLâ€â€ÂThe number one team in the nation came into Tallahassee Saturday and managed to leave with a 27-17 win over the Seminoles. HB Bryce Brown rushed for over 200 yards, including a 98-yard TD run in the decisive third quarter. Florida State played well on defense but just couldn’t get the Vols off the field late in the 4th, down 7. QB EJ Manuel had a game he would rather forget, throwing 5 interceptions. The Noles fall to 1-1 on the season and host Boston College in the ACC opener next week.

Tallahassee, FLâ€â€ÂThe Seminoles bounced back this week after losing the week prior to Tennessee, taking car of Boston College 34-21. Florida State, perhaps a bit worried about EJ Manuel and 5 picks last week, favored the run game against the Eagles defense. The Noles ran the ball 41 times versus 26 passes. Last week was about the exact opposite (39 pass, 27 run). “This is what we would like to do every week, run the ball to set up the pass. Last week, we had an awful 3rd quarter and were forced to start chucking the ball all over the field. Today we were a much more balanced attack.†The Seminoles get a week off before traveling south to Miami to face the hated Canes.

This one had me wanting to chuck the controller across the room last night. It was a tight game until the 4th quarter when I decided to throw Miami the ball over and over and over. I believe I turned the ball over 3 times in the Red Zone! All in all, 5 picks and a fumble. The fumble and one of the picks were returned for TD's. So im a little dejected this morning as I managed to play 3 games last night and lost all 3. And I have a cold to boot!

It was a fun game Hokie. Pretty much went down to the wire although the score doesnt show that. As usual, the FSU offense likes to give the other team the ball and we did so 3 times. But the D played fantastic against the option. Outside of one big run by Sweetness, I think we held them in check.

Im not sure I have the key to stop the option though. My defense is fast, so that helps. Played alot of cover 1 defense. I used the MLB almost exclusively and just tried to string the option out as much as I could.

Man do I struggle with the CPU sometimes! Completely outplayed Duke in every way but turnovers kept it closer than I would have liked it. Lonnie Pryor had another nice game going for over 100 yards and 3 TD's. EJ Manuel was his usual up and down self, throwing 2 picks. The defense completely shut down any running game Duke tried to muster but gave up some yards in the pass game. All in all, a sloppy game for the Seminoles but a wins a win, and we'll take it.

Probably played my best game yet as the Seminoles handled the Terps pretty easily, running away with the game. Lonnie Pryor had over 200 yards rushing with 4 TD's. He also chipped in with a receiving TD. EJ Manuel had his best game of the year too, completing 11 of 14 for 200 plus yards and 2 TD's. The run D was solid as ever, completely shutting down any Maryland rush attempt. A big goal line stand early in the 2nd quarter really turned a close game into a route.

Another struggle versus the CPU for the Noles. Missed 2 FG's and 2 extra points during the game. NC State marched the ball up and down the field against my defense keeping things close. EJ Manuel threw 3 TD's and no picks! Lonnie Pryor had another nice game, going over 100 yards for the 4th straight game, picking up 2 TD's along the way. Next week is a big one as #1 Clemson comes to town. Should be fun!

The Seminoles dominate on defense, holding the Orange to under 30 yards rushing while tormenting their QB with a relentless pass rush. Lonnie Prior had a nice day, bouncing back from a disappointing game against Clemson the week before. Florida State heads home for next weeks big showdown with the Gators. Shoudl be a good one!

Gators nip Noles as Time Expires, 24-21
    [IMG]

Florida got a long field goal as time expired to beat Florida State 24-21. The Seminoles, down 21-7 in the 4th quarter, mounted a spirited comeback behind the arm of EJ Manuel. The Seminoles tied the game with under a minute to go but that was just enough time for the Gators to get into FG range.

Like I said in my other post, most fun I've had at 6am since college!!!

    Champs Sports Bowl, Orlando, Florida

    Wisconsin - 21
    Florida State - 24

The Champs Sports Bowl came down to the wire in a heavy rain. Florida State kicked a chip shot FG in the 1st OT to come away with the victory. EJ Manuel had his worst game of the season, going 8-24 with 3 picks. We did everything we could to lose this game. After realizing that EJ just didnt have it, the Noles attacked with a heavy dose of Pryor and Thompson on the ground. Pryor had over 100 yards and Thompson had around 80. Now, the Seminole Nation cross their fingers in hopes Lonnie Pryor will come back for his senior season!
