2012 LSU Tigers Scouting Report
Offensive Playbook- Mississippi State
Defensive Playbook- 4-3
Offensively- Runs a balanced spread offense but favored the run, about a 60/40 ratio. Likes to run sweeps and QB keepers with Sheppard.
Defensively- I had success running the option and outside the tackle. My fews runs up the gut were stuffed. Looked like he played majority of a man coverage.
Overall a very tough team across the board. Turnover's will be key to victory.
Offense = Russell Shephard running the pill.
Defense: Lots of pressure. Likes to blitz off the edges and plays with his LBs or D line typically. Very solid up the middle and he takes extremely good angles to the ball carrier. Don't look for him to over pursue to allow for you to get big plays. Be ready for a grind. Mixes man and zone coverages.
Offense: Shepard, Shepard and more. take away the runs and then look to cover Tolliver in the passing game. very good at escaping the pocket and making long runs, mostly shotgun
Defense: will blitz and can throw mostly all routes. vulnerable to screens but also forces very good pressure. gotta be able to stick with the run even though it may seem that he stuffs it.
