On June 1st Roderick Loria announced that the Miami Marlins have hired a new General Manager in Joshua Adams. While young and inexperienced at the Major League level, Loria said that he believes Adams is a special kind of talent and that Adams will be able to develop into one of the leagues better GMs here in Miami. The team sits at 29-23 at the beginning of June and in playoff contention being only 2 games behind division leader Atlanta. Adams feels that this team has the personnel to make the playoffs. Joshua will be looking to make a couple of moves but nothing to drastic. Finding some one to replace the injured Mark Buehrle is the main concern at the moment.

The Miami Marlins went 6-3 through the first 9 game under general manager Joshua Adams. They are 4-1 in the last five. During the last five games the three best performers on the Marlins are:

    J. Reyes : 22 AB, 9 H, 1 HR, 3 RBI, .409 AVG, 1.136 OPS
    L. Morrison : 20 AB, 8 H, 1 HR, 5 RBI, .400 AVG, 1.055 OPS
    H. Bell : 4 Saves, 4.0 IP, 0 BB, 6 K, 0.00 ERA

It looks like Heath Bell is starting to hit his stride and to turnaround what has been a disappointing season so far with 7 loses and posting an ERA over 4.

The early season injuries to Jose Reyes seem to be well in the past as he is catching fire lately. Logan Morrison didn't have the injuries but started the season off slowly and looks to be getting back on pace to where his numbers should be.

Miami Jerald Report: June 11-21, 2012
The Miami Marlins played a total of eight games through this stretch against two teams, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. Compiling a 5-3 record in those games, the Marlins would also sweep the first series against Boston. The sweep of the Red Sox would see Alfredo Aceves get the loss in each of the three games. Miami would then take two of three against across state rival Tampa Bay Rays. Miami would then travel to Boston and would get two loss each coming from Sean Marshall. All in all Miami improves to 40-29 on the season, only .5 games behind Atlanta for first.

Jose Reyes continued his hot streak in this series of games getting 12 hits in 33 at bats with 8 RBI and a .876 OPS.

Matt Domiguez accepted his new role as starting 2B instead of being the backup 3B. During this stretch Matt .348 with a 1.158 OPS and 3 Home Runs with 8 RBI.

Hanley Ramirez also collected 8 hits, 1 home run, and 7 RBI.
Miami also signed two of their top 3 draft prospects. Delvyn Birch became the best player in the farm system and he is also ranked as the best second base prospect in all of baseball. Lewis Butler also signed and with his 4 Star potential he adds to a great system of outfielders the Marlins have drafted in recent years.

    Miami Jerald Report: July 21 - August 1, 2012
After being pretty cold for the month of July, the Miami Marlins started to heat up in the last week of the month going 7-3. Miami ended the month on a 5 game winning streak which is good but those three loses came at the hands of division rival Braves. Miami has won the first two in the ongoing series against Atlanta. Miami enters August 59-45 which is good for 2nd in the NL East and in control of the first wild card spot. Their record is also tied for the 4th best in all of baseball.
General Manager Joshua Adams made a late deal that got in right before the deadline that he believes can help the team now and in the future. Miami received former first round pick (9th overall) Jacob Turner from Detroit along with Andrew Oliver for Lance McCullers and their 2013 second and third round picks. Turner has the tools to start in the league now and just turned 21 this season. It is unlikely he will start this season but should be the rotation going into the 2013. Turner will most like replace Anibal Sanchez who the Marlins could not work out a contract extension with this season as the Sanchise wanted at minimum $16,500,000 a year on a new contract. Oliver should compete with recently acquired Paul Maholm for the 5th spot in the rotation next season.

Jose Reyes continued his hot July and raised his season average to .314. Over the last 10 game Reyes is batting .528 with 6 RBI and an OPS of 1.305. Since returning from a couple injuries at the beginning of the season he has shown why he got paid in the off-season.
Emilio Bonifacio batted .315 from the lead off position during this stretch adding 4 RBI and his first home run of the season.

Chris Snyder was brought over in a trade with the Houston Astros to provide more offense and better defense to the catching position. Snyder showed he will fit in nicely in South Beach as he has gone 9/24 with 2 home runs, 3 RBI, and 1.198 OPS.
