    2012 Team Outlook
The 2012 season will hopefully be another stepping stone to getting in the playoffs and competing in the division but it will be rough early in the year as far as pitching goes as the A's #1 and #2 pitchers Brett Anderson and Dallas Braden will start on the DL. With both Aces shutdown to start the season Oakland will turn to veteran Bartolo Colon who last season started 26 games for the New York Yankees and had a record of 8-10 with a 4.00 ERA, Colon will need to be sharper this season to help Oakland. On the offensive side Oakland has some really good talent but a few players I think are going to have break out seasons are 2B Jemile Weeks, RF Seth Smith, and Rookie CF Yoenis Cespedes. Some other rookies that could make an impact in Oakland this year is SP Jarrod Parker, SP Brad Peacock. Once everything is said and done I believe we will be contending for a wild card spot and possibly the division.

So far this season things have looked grim starting out 2-13 but new GM Zac Carder has made some good moves as he acquired 3B Mark Reynolds from Baltimore to add some power to the middle of the lineup. Another move that was not widely talked about was the deal with Pittsburgh that brought in MR Evan Meek to give the bullpen a boost and also got 2B Josh Harrison to give add a good contact hitter to back up in the infield. Oakland lost Coco Crisp to a sprained thumb last week and he was sent to the 15 Day DL, rookie Michael Choice will replace him in the lineup and it will be interesting to see how the youngster does over the next two weeks.

The 2012 campaign for the Oakland A's was not what they had hoped for but it was terrible either as they only lost 4 more games this season than last year finishing with a 70-92 Record. Oakland's GM was absent for some of the season due to personal issues but will hopefully be able to turn this ship around and get Oakland back to being a playoff contender. The first move that was made this offseason was resigning James Loney to a 5 year deal, next on the radar is trying to find some starting pitching and some depth in the outfield.
