Washington Looks for Their Best Players to Start Producing

The Washington Huskies have started their season 3-0 and have made it into the top 25 poll for the first time this year. However, they are just now hitting the toughest part of their schedule and will need to see some players produce up to their potential.

Thus far, the offense has been mostly carried by QB Price and WR Johnson, who has emerged as one of the best receivers in the country. That top receiver role was expected to be filled by Sophomore Kasen Williams, who has had a couple of small injuries and hasn't done a great job of creating big plays or getting open consistently. Jesse Callier needs to improve as well. After 48 attempts, he has just 189 yards, giving him a 3.9 average. Current backup Bishop Sankey has rushed for 145 yards on 13. If Callier can't get things moving expect a change. TE Austin Sefarian-Jenkins could stand to improve as well. He's done a good job of blocking in the run game, but having that safety net might help Price limit his turnovers.

The two biggest standouts on the defensive side of the ball have been sophomores ROLB Timu and DE Shirley. Timu has been all over the field and has 14 solo tackles, 3 TFL, and 3 deflections. Shirley has caused chaos in the backfield with 6 sacks and 8 TFL. Really the rest of the defensive line needs to pick it up as they have a combined 7 solo tackles. They've done a decent job at clogging up blockers, but they need to get some penetration and get off blocks or the Washington defense will have a tough time preventing big plays.

Bah the web stats still are messed up it seems, I will go through this later, hopefully when I get home from work.

*edit* Seems the offensive stats are pretty good, so I got rid of the defensive stat post for now.

Utah is tough this year. It will be interesting to see what happens in their game against USC.

Giant leap at the top of the polls for Wick36 and Washington, as they move from #7 to #2 this week after moving to 6-0. Sitting behind 7-0 cpu Wisconsin, and their toughest game left is Michigan State in week 9 for a user game, and has been rolling over everything in its path.

Also according to the Dynasty Wire my QB Nick Hirschman was the Pac-12 Week 6 Offensive Player of the Week, 8/11 228 YDS 5TDs and 2 CAR for 65,525 YDS. Not the NCAA PoTW after that??!! lol

Not a good week for CU as you can see from the score and the Players of the Week. Washington used this win and a Game Genie to leapfrog former #1 Wisconsin, who is still undefeated as well, to move into the #1 position in the polls.
