We're already in to week 3 and little by little things are starting to take shape. Texas A&M suffered this week's heart breaker in a shocking blowout loss to SMU 42-20, we also had a shocker with Stanford. The Cardinal went on the road to Illinois and fell short against the Illini 19-12, but the big thing with these losses the past few weeks is the teams are still very much in the hunt for there conference championships.
The SEC started conference play early and Arkansas & South Carolina both bounced back from the week 1 losses with the Gamecocks beating Vanderbilt and Arkansas upsetting #12 Georgia. The other SEC team in play was Missouri who traveled into Camp Randall Stadium and struggled mightily on offense against the Badgers 27-13.
This week we'll feature the game between the South Carolina Gamecocks & Michigan Wolverines. Both these squads have superstars, just on different sides of the ball. The Wolverines will rely on Denard "Shoelace" Robinson. For the Gamecocks, it's DE sophomore Jadeveon Clowney. The Wolverines will look to defend their turf & the #7 ranking they currently possess. An upset from SuperBowlNachos and the Gamecocks will replace the embarrassing loss they had against Duke.

While the Hogs started the season off with a tough loss, they were able to get back on track with a win in week 2. Week 3 would get no easier as the Hogs took on their 3rd ranked team in as many weeks in the #21 ranked Florida Gators. The Razorbacks would receive the opening kickoff and go right down the field, however the offense bogged down and had to settle for a FG. The Hog defense played great for most of the first forcing several 3 and outs, but the Hog offense didn't do much to help as Wilson threw 2 of his 4 INTs in the 1st quarter. Florida took advantage of the 2nd INT when QB Brissett found Dunbar from 25 yards out on a corner route. Like they did on their first drive of the 1st quarter, the Hogs went right down the field to open the 2nd quarter, and again had to settle for a FG. The Hog defense forced another punt and the Hog offense finally woke up when Knile Davis flashed his hands and his speed, taking a screen all the way to the house for the 80 yard TD. After a rushing TD by the Gators Davis showed his running ability, outracing several Gator defenders around the left in for the 10 yard TD. The Hogs would go on to add their 3rd FG of the half as time expired.

The Gators opened up the second half with the ball and got on the board quickly Debose reception from 22 yards out. The Hogs were quick to answer when on their next drive they went right down the field and Davis added his 3rd TD of the game, this time from 3 yards out. The defenses held tight for the rest of the 3rd quarter, but Tyler Wilson would break through early in the 4th, finding star WR Cobi Hamilton for the 35 yard TD on a post route. The Gator offense would go down the field on the Razorbacks, but would fail 4th and 4 to give the ball back to the Hogs. Ronnie Wingo, subbing in for a hurt Knile Davis, showed the Hogs have a deep backfield when he took the handoff on a power to the left and raced around the end for the 60 yard TD. The Gators would add a late TD but it wouldn't be enough.

    Key States:

    Tyler Wilson 24-34 525 Yards 2 TD 4 INT
    Knile Davis 17 att 112 Yards 2 TD 1 rec 80 yards 1 TD
Cobi Hamilton 6 Rec 131 Yards 1 TD

Texas A&M bounced back from an opening game disaster against SMU, beating Vanderbilt 37-28 at Kyle Field in their first ever SEC league game.
Vandy received the ball to start the game and the A&M defense had probably their best series of the season, forcing a 3 and out to get the ball back early. The offense would do it's part, mostly, taking the ball down the field before stalling in the red zone and having to settle for a FG, 3-0 Aggies. The Commodores would quickly answer though, as the porous Aggie defense would show up again, this time allowing a 65 yard TD run to HB Zac Stacy. This would be it for the scoring the in the first quarter, 7-3 Vanderbilt after 1.
The beginning of the second would again have the Aggies stalling in the red zone and settling for a FG, 7-6 Vandy. This would be the theme of the day as the offense was great between the 20's but couldn't get it done in the redzone. This would be the beginning of a scoring explosion for both teams as A&M scored 2 more TD and another FG. Vandy would strike back with 2 TD of their own to make the score 23-21 A&M at the half.
The 3rd quarter would see the defenses step up after a quick score to start the half on a 31 yd TD run by QB Jameill Showers, his second on the day. 30-21 A&M after 3 quarters.
Vandy would strike back early in the 3rd on a short TD run by backup HB Warren Norman, emphasizing that they would not go down easy. After a few more failed drives, A&M got the ball back with just over 2 minutes remaining and looking to run out the clock to preserve a 2 point lead at 30-28. They would do even better this time, and finally cash in for a TD in the red zone on a short TD run by HB Christine Michael with 1 minute to play, essentially sealing the victory for the Aggies.
Overall, this was a much better game than last week against SMU, although the defense still struggled to contain the big play. QB Showers was ok passing (19-41, 228 yd, 1 TD, 1 INT), but really shone in the running game, running for 150 yards on 9 carries, highlighted by the 2 long TD runs. HB Michael was solid again, rushing 23 times for 132 yards and reaching the endzone for the first time this season. WR Ryan Swope again lived up the the hype as well, catching 9 passes for 114 yd with 1 TD, although he did have 3 drops in this game.
Next up, the Aggies travel to Columbus for their first road game against a young talented Ohio State team. This will be an almost impossible matchup as the Aggies will have to find a way to contain the speed of the Buckeyes in order to even keep the game close. This will be a true test to see exactly how far from contention this team really is.

This was a highly anticipated game between two old rivals. South Carolina already having been upset by Duke, really needed this game to turn around their season. Michigan coming off a uneventful win over Norther Illinois, needed to get back on track as this was the first of a brutal 3 game stretch that could shape the season.
Both teams went 3 and out on their opening possession but the fireworks would start on the Gamecocks next drive. SO Olb Desmond Morgan jumped a curl route and picked off the Connor Shaw pass and returned it 37yds for the opening score. After another Gamecock punt, Denard Robinson took over as he kept a read option and scampered 71yds to give the Wolverines a 14-0 lead. Things just got worse for South Carolina as Marcus Lattimore couldn't get anything going at all. After another punt, Robinson would again hit paydirt.. This time from 18yds out. South Carolina would add 3 and had a chance for more but were sacked inside the 10 and time sadly ran off the clock to go into halftime with the Wolverines up 21-3.
The second half started off much the same for Michigan as the offense was now dominating the Gamecocks up front. Although Robinson was struggling mightily throwing the ball against the South Carolina defense, the running backs were now finding holes and taking advantage of them. Michigan would put the nail in the coffin as Robinson would hit Fitzgerald Touissant on a screen from 10yds out to give Michigan a insurmountable 28-3 lead. Touissant would add another TD run in the 3rd and the rest of the game would see both teams just run the clock out and try not to get anyone injured.. Sadly for the Gamecocks, starting QB Connor Shaw was hurt and will miss the next 10 weeks. This could now turn into a long season for Carolina.
Michigan will celebrate this win but quickly turn their focus to the opening of the B1G season and a game against pre-season favorite TEClemson53 Wisconsin Badgers. Camp Randall is no joke and we expect this to be our toughest game of the season (sorry Screw and Greg). We were able to contain Lattimore, let's hope we can do the same to the two headed monster that is Montae Ball and James White.
