Western Michigan shocks the nation. Michigan has been known to lose early to lesser opponents, i.e. Appalachian St, and another upset was in the making. The Broncos built a 24-0 lead going into the half, completely silencing the Big House crowd. The offense gained huge plays off of short passes, gaining 191 yac yards in the game. Receivers and backs took screen plays and turned them into big plays as a secondary that bullied QB Carder last year was left in the dust. Michigan mounted a comeback, scoring 21 unanswered. But HB Fields took a screen pass for a 55 yard TD, his second of the day.

    Western Michigan 31 - #15 Michigan 21

Blue Raiders Fall Short in Upset Bid

    Middle Tennessee State: 17
    Penn State: 30

Last season, when MTSU played a big name school, they curled up into the fetal position and got hammered. That did not happen in this game. MTSU took an early 7-0 lead after a 4+ minute drive. Penn State would answer quickly with deep passes against an undermanned secondary. Middle Tennessee would hang tough with the Nittany Lions, being tied at 10 at half, and trailing only by 3 going into the fourth. Penn State had been gaining momentum throughout the half, and was moving the ball again against the Blue Raider D. However, a little swing pass would be intercepted for a pick 6 and give MTSU a 17-13 lead with under 6 minutes to go in the fourth. That seemed to be all the energy that was left in the team, because PSU would rally to score 17 straight to end the game 30-17.

    San Jose State - 19
    Houston - 16

Grind it out kind of game for the Spartans, who win on a FG with just seconds to play on the clock. My team is slow, can catch and likes to turn the ball over but we still battled and got the victory on the road. Next week, coach Rec Chem will take the week off and go on AP because Cheez can't schedule correctly as the Spartans face ULM (im kidding cheez :))

    Game Stats
QB Blake Jurich SJSU 12/24 149 Yards, 0 TD, 3 INT
QB David Piland HOU 21/44 308 Yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

HB David Freeman SJSU 22 carries, 90 Yards, 1 TD
HB Chris Wilson HOU 7 carries, 14 Yards

TE Ray Rodriguez SJSU 3 catches, 51 Yards
HB Chris Wilson HOU 6 catches, 92 Yards

OLB Keith Smith SJSU 10 Tackles, 6 Solo, 1 TFL, 1 FFUMB
DE Kelvin King HOU 7 Tackles, 7 Solo, 4 TFL, 3.0 Sacks, 1 FFUMB

Memphis and Army had a pretty good game going before the disconnect. The game started with a kick return TD. Memphis then answered with a big play for touchdowns. I don't remember the exact order of everything else, but there was a fumble return for a TD, some long drives for Army, several interceptions for Memphis, and some big sacks by Army.

Army was up 10 with about 4 minutes left. Memphis went no huddle and scored a TD but didn't get the onside kick. Army had the ball at the Memphis 39 with 2:16 left for 2nd & 7 when the game disconnected. We kinda picked up there and played it out with Army converting a field goal with 15 seconds left or so and getting the win.

Good game whygod...that disconnect sucked, although it wasn't looking good for me at the point.

The memphis CPU ran hail marry or 4 verts the entire second half. Worse they never threw the ball, they just took sacks while the wr started running back toward the QB. (Twice in the endzone)

The Green Wave pulls off the big upset, shocking the state of Louisiana. JUCO WR Mark Ervin led the way, catching 7 balls for over 200 yards and a td. QB Ryan Griffin threw 4 tds in the win.

That kid is 6'7 with 94 speed/93 acceleration. I'm obligated to throw the deep ball.

If he were on the Spartans, that would be my entire offensive game plan!

It really isn't that difficult throwing the ball. You just need to know what receiver will be open on the play, and if he isn't you just got to throw it away, or run with it.

In my case, I just don't know how to throw it away.
