Texas Locks up 4 top recruits during week 1

    HB(#3) :4stars:
    5'10 186lb West(lol) Odessa, TX
    Tom Rice

B Speed, Stiff Arm, Spin, Juke, Stamina, Injury
B- Accel, Agility, Break Tackle, Trucking, Elusiveness
    C+ Carrying, BC Vision

I really like the way this recruit looks. He'll look even better after a redshirt and a year in the weight room.

    HB(#15) :4stars:
    5'10 192lb Inglewood, CA
    Nicholas Bright

    A- Speed
    B Spin
B- Acceleration, Break Tackle, Elusiveness, Stiff Arm, Juke

    C- Stamina
    C+ Injury

Wish I had looked at this guy a little more thoroughly... He'll be taking a RS also, hopefully he can become the Lightning to Rice's Thunder.

    G(#2) :4stars:
    6'2 268lb Rosenberg, TX
    James Gonzales

    A Acceleration
    B Strength
    B- Run Block, Pass Block
    C+ Awareness

Since Pancakes are messed up this year, Gonzales becomes another faceless O-Lineman for the Horns. Got to keep those Big-Uglies coming in...

    CB(#3) :4stars:
    6'0 195lb Lockhart, TX
    Jamil Jackson

    A Speed, Acceleration
    B+ Zone Coverage
    B Man Coverage, Jump, Stamina
    B- Play Rec, Injury
    C+ Press, Pursuit

Excellent size for a CB. Good Speed/Accel but hopefully the rest will progress up to those levels.

    11 SR + (71-69) = 13 Total Scholarships

    DE #1 :5stars:
    6'2'' 229 Thomasville, GA
    Ed Strong
B Speed, Accel, Power Move, Block Shedding
    B- Strength, Tackle, Pursuit
    C+ Agility, Hit Power
Huge fill at DE and will look to start early in his career.

    HB #6 :4stars:
    6'2'' 180 Crystal Springs, MS
    Josh Richardson
    A- Speed
    B- Break Tackle
    B Spin and Juke
    C+ Accel
    C Trucking
Wanted a top 3 back but no interest from them, but Josh is a good back and will have to work on his explosiveness to reach that top speed.

    I did get one signing

    :4stars: Terrance Washington #13 ATH
    6'0 191 - FL
+ B Speed; B- Hit Power; C+ Tackle, Pursuit, Zone cover
    - D Play recognition; D+ Man coverage; C- Strength, Agility
Coach's comment: Not sure why I offered him a scholarship. He doesn't really fit into any position.

I checked Dynasty Wire and it seems to be working today. 15 scholarships available, 14 seniors, 1 extra and 0 empty roster spots.

    Washington Huskies

    14 Seniors
    70 Players
    + 1 Extra
    = 15 Available Scholarships

    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6 Column 7
:4stars: Mark Jackson ATH 6'5" 333 WA Mark has good strength and great size. I believe he will be a DT for the Huskies.
:3stars: Dan Bowen MLB 6'3" 216 WA Dan is a balanced MLB with good coverage and tackling skills. He may find himself getting significant playing time next season
:3stars: Jermaine Waller QB 5'11" 215 WA Jermaine has average speed, evasion, and throwing skills. It will take a couple years but he should be a solid predecessor for the Huskies.

WVU adds a week 1 commit. :4stars: QB#5 Michael Sowell (6'5, 199lbs) out of NJ has signed on to be a Mountaineer. He has good passing ability (B THP, B THA) but needs to develop in all other areas. He's a good addition in an area of need for WVU, but with 2 solid SO(RS) QBs on the roster, Sowell won't see the field for a couple years.

The Huskies gain another recruit in Week #3

    :3stars:G Albert Romero
6'4" 303 lbs (North Creek, WA)

Albert is a big boy with C- strength and B- Run block footwork. He also possesses an average Pass Block at C+. Although he lack speed, D, the coaches believe his frame and blocking techniques will put him as a 2nd year starter at Tackle, or 3rd year starter at Center.

    WVU adds two players:

    :2stars: #14 K Jacob Foster 6'3 190lbs from VA
    :2stars: #5 P Bill Simon 5'11 214lbs from NJ

Foster and Simon were "need" positions. We're glad we could finish up their recruiting process quickly, so we can use that time elsewhere...on important recruits.

    They join Week 1 recruit:

    :4stars: #5 QB Michael Sowell 6'5 199lbs from NJ

Yeah I was going after Sowell but it is better to lose out on him in week 1 than week 6. I can now shift my attention to a different QB.

Agreed. I wouldn't have recruited him if WVU wasn't #1 on his list. Decent, not great, arm and everything else is D or D-. I don't think he'll come in that highly rated, but maybe I'll be wrong. On a sidenote...good god we need tables to be back. Doesn't sound like we'll get them for a while. :(

Agreed, glad I don't have to update this list. Without tables and with the current software it is a pain in the ass to align correctly.

No new recruits for WVU and with another bye in Week 4, we can not wait to get to Week 5. The game against Syracuse will be huge, since we have a lot of recruits coming in for that one. I'm feeling a CPU F-U game though, I bet it will be close.

    Huskies sign another this week...

:3stars:#33 QB Larry Houston (6'3" 194 Fontana, CA)

Mr. Houston is the kind of young QB I like. He has B- speed, B Accell, C Agility, C THA and THP. C- Break tackle and Elusiveness. After his redshirt year and a year on the bench behind Nick Montana, he could be very good RSSO QB for the Huskies.

WVU adds five players after Week 5:

    :4stars:#3 C Kyle Russell 6'3 280lbs from TX
    :4stars:#5 G Trent Bolen 6'1 283lbs from NJ
:4stars:#11 DE Jeff Stewart 6'4 243lbs from MD
:4stars:#18 DE Lorenzo Wheeler 6'3 241lbs from NJ
    :3stars:#30 C Ali Motley 6'2 264lbs from NJ

WVU was #2 on each player's list coming into last week expect for Motley (he had us #1). All the recruits must have enjoyed their trip to Morgantown and the game against Syracuse. WVU had several recruits in for visits in week 6 and there is one soft commit. Hopefully we can add a few more players next week.

Soon enough WVU will change their mascot from the "Mountaineers" to "Guidos". 5 out of 8 kids signed on are from Jersey. Word on the recruiting trail is the newly installed tanning beds and washer/dryers in the workout room are a big hit with recruits from Jersey.

    Recruits already signed:
    :4stars: #5 QB Michael Sowell 6'5 199lbs from NJ
    :2stars: #14 K Jacob Foster 6'3 190lbs from VA
    :2stars: #5 P Bill Simon 5'11 214lbs from NJ

    ATH(#2) :5stars:
    6'0 190lb Schenectady, NY
    Calvin Mueller
    A Speed, Acceleration
    B+ Stamina
    B Agility
B- Injury, Play Recognition, Tackle, Pursuit
Calvin is the epitome of an athlete. He looks like a S or CB, but Texas will have to wait to get him on the practice field before they know for sure where he land.

    G(#4) :4stars:
    6'2 282lb Nether Providence, PA
    Patrick Lundy
    B+ Accel
B Awareness, Strength, Run Block Str,
    C Speed
    D+ Stamina
Always planning for the future, the Longhorns lock up another Offensive line recruit. This guy is sort of a project player though. Coach Max wants him to be the pulling guard on run plays, but he will have to work on his conditioning before seeing any PT. Expect him to take a RS.

    T(#5) :4stars:
    6'5 299lb Grand Prairie, TX
    Jim Johnson
    A- Accel
    B Strength
    D Stamina
Texas' other O-line recruit that signed over the weekend and he is another big ball of mush. There is a lot of time on the treadmill in both Johnson's and Lundy's futures.

In Week 6, the Washington Huskies sign:

:4stars:#19 HB Brent Wallace (5'11" 215 lbs San Diego, CA)

Brent is a well rounded runningback who could contend for some time in the backfield after his RS year, depending on the status of Sophomore phenom Deonte Cooper. Brent has B+ speed, Agility. C+ elusiveness, BC Vision, B- Stiff Arm and Spin move, and an incredible A- Juke.

:3stars:#106 DE Justin Bishop (6'6" 288 lbs South Whittier, CA)

As the Huskies move into a 3-4 defensive scheme, Justin is the perfect fit. He has an exceptionally large frame and good moves in the trenches. He will need a year or two to develop but he could play a key run stopping role in the future.
