    Coaches' Poll
    Column 1
Rank LW Name Wins Losses Last Week
1 1 Alabama 4 0 Alabama scored 60 on route to dispatching the BYU Cougars . Heisman hopeful HB Trent Richardson did some of his best work of the season rushing for 222 yards on only 21 carries.
2 2 Georgia Tech 5 0 It took Tech's 21 fourth quarter points to pull away from 0-4 B.C. 48-20. HB Otis Smith was held under 100 yards rushing.
3 3 Tennessee 4 0 Tennesse left no doubt scoring big against SDSU 73-16. Xavier Stephens was not his most efficient in this game throwing 3 TD's and 3 picks.
    4 4 Oklahoma 4 0
5 7 Georgia 4 0 Georgia's thrashing of Cincinnati 70-23 sent the Bearcats out of the top 10. QB Scales only needed to attempt 13 passes because HB Mike Anderson broke out for 223 yards and Scales rushed for a 100 yards himself.
    6 5 USC 3 0
7 9 Clemson 4 0 With coach Colemanchu onboard for the whole season the Tigers are climbing. The Tiger defense held Wake Forest to 111 on offense winning 59-0.
8 10 Florida 3 1 The Gators put the ship in order with a conference win over Kentucky 69-27.
9 13 Miami 4 0 Miami held off instate and conference rival FSU in a big Monday night contest 23-17.
10 11 North Carolina 4 0 Are the boys in "powder" blue back? A 4-0 start and 49-28 win over Notre Dame says they are. The Tarheels featured two 100 yard rushers Womble and Clancy.
    11 12 Penn State 4 1
    12 6 Cincinnati 2 1
13 14 Virginia Tech 3 1 With Ju Ju at the helm V.T. starts its climb back into the top 10. TE Logan Thomas had 9 receptions and 4 TD's in a 70-14 win against Duke.
14 8 Florida State 3 1 QB EJ Manuel saw his interception total rise to 11, he had 4 in a tough loss to Miami 23-17.

    16 16 TCU 4 0
    17 17 Texas 3 2
18 18 Auburn 3 1 QB William Hamilton is getting adjusted to the load he has to carry for the Tigers. Hamilton passed for 332 yards on 40 attempts and rushed for 120 yards on 17 attempts in a win over Mississippi State 48-22. Turnovers remain a concern for Hamilton though, 2 picks and 3 fumbles.

    #5 Georgia 4-0 (2-0) @ #1 Alabama 4-0 (1-0)

This is the first meeting between Georgia and Alabama in the Tradition. Both teams look to make a statement in this one. The similarities run deep for these two programs. Both teams QB's have been extremly efficient. Bama QB Star Jackson has a 220.7 passer rating and 11 Td's and 0 interceptions on the year. Georgia QB James Scales already has over a 1,000 yards passing and 14 TD's against 7 interceptions. At the running back spot HB Mike Anderson leads the Bulldogs 553 yards on 98 carries and 8 TD's vs. Alabama's HB Trent Richardson 675 yards on 83 carries and 9 TD's. Defensively the teams are littered with stars but as units have failed to prevent opponents from moving the ball. Alabama hosts the game and this may be the one place either team has a clear cut advantage. One of these defensive units will step up and put their team in the SEC's driver seat.

    LSU 3-2 (1-1) @ #8 Florida 3-1 (1-1)

One of these teams will find themselves below .500 in conference and searching for answers. The other will remain in the SEC hunt and relevent. LSU seems to have settled any QB questions and Sheppard is starting to look comfortable. Ferwerda a question mark to start the season has been good enough at tailback to have 3 100 yard games. The question is which LSU offense will show up? 10 points against North Carolina and 14 against South Carolina. This is a big question as they take on their toughest test in the Gator defense. Florida is experienced and has looked good for all but 1 quater this season when they yielded 28 points to Tennessee. QB Jordan Reed is has 1200 yards passing and 12 TD's and is completing 68 % of his passes. Reed will be comfortable at home but will be handing the ball off to Freshman John Spence who takes the place of injured Mike Gillislee. Spence will need to come into his own in this one otherwise look for the Gators to lean on Reed a little more than usual. This game will be decided by which defense can make the other QB less comfortable.

    National TV Games

    #21 Ohio St. (1-2) @ #7 Clemson (4-0)

Ohio St. should fire there AD scheduling Alabama and Virginia Tech already now add Clemson. The Tigers wont shut out the Buckeyes but will knock them out of the Top 25.

    Wake Forest 2-2 (1-2) @ #14 Florida St. 3-1 (1-1)

All will be right for Florida State when this is over the Miami loss will be a distant memory.

    Regional Broadcasts

    #9 Miami 4-0 @ Duke

Be very afraid for Duke. The Blue Devils gave up 70 to V.T. this shouldn't be any different.

    Arkansas 1-4 (0-2) @ #18 Auburn 3-1 (2-0)

Hamilton and the Tigers will keep this one closer than they should if they don’t protect the ball.

    #13 Virginia Tech 3-1 (1-1) @ NC State 1-2 (0-2)

Logan Thomas is licking his chops and Ju Ju will keep him smiling all game long.

    #3 Tennessee 4-0 (1-0) @ Mississippi State 1-2 (0-2)

Final tune up before next weeks Georgia game. Look for the starters to hit the showers early to avoid injury.

    Virginia 0-4 (0-3) @ #10 North Carolina 4-0 (1-0)

The Tar Heels taste the top 10 and seem to be in step with coach Blazarep. The most interesting thing about this one is travel cordinator had to work overtime before this one scheduling flights for 16 recruits to visit during this rilvalry game.

    Idle

    #2 Georgia Tech 5-0

Tech will use the week to get ready for Duke…..not really they are looking 2 weeks out and looking forward to #9 Miami.

Heres Jamall Berry's statline for the first quarter. 5 att., 183 yards., 3 TD's. Makes me happy to know that we are stealing all the CPU's recruits, those SOB's.
