Ryan Struggles, Panthers win in OT 13-10Matt Ryan threw 2 second half interceptions that many think cost the Falcons the game. Atlanta - The Falcons had high hopes coming into 2012 after a successful playoff appearance last year. After game 1, it seems as if Atlanta may have a new contender to worry about in the NFC South. It was a tight defensive game and the Carolina Panthers willed their way to a victory by taking advantage of Matt Ryan's poor decisions. Cam Newton was spectacular in his 2012 debut by completing 10 of 13 attempts for 157 yards. He also had 45 rushing yards on the day. He finished with a 116.5 QB rating. Matt Ryan, on the other hand, was the opposite of spectacular. He seemed to struggle with the new offensive scheme, and often times threw into coverage when he had other receivers open down field. He finished the day going 10 for 16 for 117 yards and 2 INTs. That earned him an impressively bad 45.1 QB rating. Falcons look to rebound next week against another division rival, the New Orleans Saints.
