    Game of the Week:

    #6 Georgia at #5 Auburn

What a big game this has turned out to be. With Auburn riding on top of the world after knocking off UF last week, can they take down another SEC East power? UGA is the flat out better team, but so was UF, Coach Nole has his kids fired up and ready to take on anyone. Having this game at home won't hurt either.

If Georgia doesn't protect the ball, this one will get ugly quick. Auburn's struggling offensively against good defenses but they may be able to get something going this week. They'll need to in order to win.

    Duke - 7

The game was over by half, as Duke QB Sean Renfree threw consecutive interceptions which were returned for TDs in the final minute of the first half. QB Tajh Boyd had a solid performance and did not turn the ball over, albeit against Duke. Next week is the real test, as the young QB heads on the road to face rival Florida State.

    Stats - Clemson

    QB Tajh Boyd - 13/20 - 239 Yards - 2/0
    HB Andre Ellington - 18 Attempts - 104 Yards - 1 TD

Another struggle versus the CPU for the Noles. Missed 2 FG's and 2 extra points during the game. NC State marched the ball up and down the field against my defense keeping things close. EJ Manuel threw 3 TD's and no picks! Lonnie Pryor had another nice game, going over 100 yards for the 4th straight game, picking up 2 TD's along the way. Next week is a big one as #1 Clemson comes to town. Should be fun!

First who put the injury code in. Just lost Wilson for 4 weeks. had to take a redshirt off my 4th string runningback and put a WR in the backfield to run my offense. Oh well still managed to put up 334yds on the ground and 243yds in the air. Antone Exum led the attack with 165yds 4 TD on theground and another 99yds in the air. Clayton threw for 144yds 1 TD establishing himself as the most prolific passer in VT history. The defense again is prone to giving up the big play, but they were able to pressure the QB a record 5 sacks. Up next for the Hokies is a tune up game with Tulsa before they play their instate rival UVA. Sweetness is expected to be healthy next week, but will he be reinstated by the coaches???

In my Michigan dynasty I've gone on several tirades about the damned injury code in this game. I'm 100% certain that they increased the injuries in this year's version of the game so that they can show Erin Andrews' picture lots of times.

hahaha, probably. Trying to cater to a bunch of video game playing perverts like mysefl haha.

If they're going to inflate the injuries they need to expand the rosters to 85 players like in real life. Losing a couple guys with only a 70 man roster minus red shirts and it's possible to get through your 2 deep pretty quickly.

This year's version of the game is the first one I've ever had to keep 4 QBs on my roster. In my Michigan dynasty, 1 year I actually had to pull a RS from my #4 QB and play him due to injuries.

    LSU @ Notre Dame (L 17-13)

LSU jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the middle of the 2nd quarter as Redshirt Freshman Rich Simpson did his best Russell Shepard impression. He got the nod this week because he showed a touch more accuracy than his more athletic counterpart. He did a servicable job, throwing for 318 yd and 1 TD. He did have 4 INT's though, and some of these catches were unbelievable. Impact WR Chris Tolliver did him no favors though. He had 3 drop and only one was due to contact and that one was brought to his chest before impact. Tolliver did have the only score for LSU though, as he cut back to the QB and was left wide open. The halftime score was 10-9 due to a TD(with a missed XP) and a FG by ND. ND also missed 2 FG in the game.

In the 3rd they would score 1 more TD and complete the 2 pt. conversion. LSU would also tack on a FG of their own to make it 17-13 ND. LSU took the ball into the redzone 2 times in the game and both times came back empty handed. LSU's defense did their best to keep them in the game, holding ND to 2-12 on 3rd down conversions and 0-2 on 4th down conversions. The returned fumble recovery was the difference maker.

At the end of the game LSU had 1:38 to score a TD. The ball was spotted near midfield due to a 23 yd punt return by Tolliver. Simpson handled himself nicely and remained calm. He ran for 30 yd on 3 rushes during this drive, but the defensive pressure put on him throughout the game only got worse.(Kapron Lewis Moore extended his ND school record for most sacks in a career and recorded 2 on the day.) With :32 left, he was sacked and they had to hurry up t the line. He would be forced out of the pocket again and gain 7 yd and call their last time-out.(They used 1 other timeout during this drive, but the first was used on a 3rd down because the defense could not get the proper play called.) With :11 left and LSU on the ND 4 yd line, Simpson would be sacked at the 8 yd line for the final time and fumble the ball. The ball was then picked up by RT Chris Faulk and he ran as fast as he could toward the endzone, only to come up 1 yd short.

Making that FG earlier in the 4th would have allowed LSU to kick a FG in the waning seconds of the game and win rather than be forced to score a TD.

The running game had to be stellar today in order to let Simpson just be a game manager. This was not the case as Ford had 10 carries for 43 yd. The coach eluded to the fact that running plays while in the spread offense is not working with his offense and even if Shepard does return next season, they will go back to a more conventional offense.

“We want to run the ball from under center. We need to get back to how we played in my first year here. I take full blame for taking this team in a direction that has proven detrimental.”

Thankfully, the AD is fully behind his coach, but LSU is not used to many seasons where they threaten to go 6-6.

This was a hard fought game and Notre Dame was just fortunate enough to come out on top.

Damn Bfruchey. I'm really surprised since you begged me to put ND on your schedule this season after they stole some recruits from you last year. I thought for sure you'd lay the smack down on them but I guess not. Sorry to hear that. It is ridiculously difficult to run out of the shotgun, especially in a power fashion like you should be able too. I hope for next year EA resolves the discrepency between the under center and shotgun running games since in real life both are equally effective.

Not so fast my friend! I beg to differ. My Michigan squad runs exclusively out of the shotgun and I almost always have more rushing yards than passing. Below are my career rushing leaders in my Michigan online dynasty, sorted by total yards. Take a look @ their YPC. Not a single HB averaged fewer than 5 YPC. That doesn't look ridiculously difficult to me. Also, the majority of the games for these stats were with sliders that are harder for user runners than what we have used in this dynasty, and I probably run up the gut vs. outside about 50/50.

That's just because you play in the ridiculously inferior big 10. You wouldn't put up stats like that against an SEC defense hahaha.

If that were true, then I shudder to think of what it would be like if i had to play against ACC defenses! I mean, just look @ what they did to the SEC in this year's ACC/SEC challenge!

    Tide take care of Vandy

Vandy is not very good. Their QB went a little Robo for a stretch but other than that they are a good team to play off a loss. Jackson balled with 5 TDs (1 was rushing). Although he was only 50% passing. I had no turnovers which helps. Griffin continues to be the #1 RB, for some reason Richardson can't really Juke, stiff arm or move the pile, his spin move is good but thats about it. Big day for TE Smelley with 6 rec 113yds and 3 TD. Mixon was a beast with 10 tkls.

UNC Takes Care of a Hapless Wake Forest Team, 52-14

Boyd got behind the defenders all day long!

UNC used a balanced attack to beat down a terrible Wake Forest team in front of 27 recruits. UNC did their best to show those kids why it'd be a terrible decision to choose to play for the Deacons. SO HB Reid played well as he replaced injured starter Kirk. He ran for 103 yards and 2 TDs. While he isn't nearly as talented as Kirk, it looks like he should be able to hold down the fort reasonably well in his absence. The player of the game was clearly JR receiver Jheranie Boyd. He torched the Deacon defense to the tune of 183 yards and 3 TDs. UNC's defense also played well as they held the Deacons to 284 yards and only 28 rushing yards on 24 carries.

Next up for UNC is a tough matchup against Maryland.

Auburn, AL-- A top 10 matchup pitted the Bulldogs of Georgia traveling to Jordan Hare Stadium to take on the Auburn Tigers. Auburn was able to jump out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter behind the arm of Andrew Miller setting them up for two Onterio McCalebb TD runs. The Dogs would get their offense in gear in the second quarter as they score 14 points, their first was thrown by Murray because Mettenberger went down shortly with an injury but he returned and threw the second TD pass of the quarter. Halftime score Auburn 21 Georgia 17.
Auburn would only see points in the third quarter and it consisted of a 49 yard FG pushing the lead to 7. The Tigers would strike early in the 4th quarter with a 40 yard TD pass from Miller to Blake, Aub 31 UGA- 17. Georgia would come back and score with 3:43 left. Auburn trying not to be too complacent and risk a 3 n out, went to an aggressive attack and proved costly as Miller was hit and picked off. Georgia was able to get inside the redzone but a 4th and long with less than a min to go doomed them in. Mettenberger looked for Brown in the endzone and the pass was broken up by Jordan Matthews.

35-31 over Houston. Two returns for TD's in the game (back to back) and we had to hold on for dear life.

2 in a Row as Gators Clinch SEC East for 2nd Consecutive Year!

Gators got a solid road win this weekend as they traveled to Ole Miss to knock off the Rebels. The defense was the story in this one as they tormented the Rebels all game not allowing them to take advantage of some Gator turnovers.

QB Jordan Reed continued his hang over from the Auburn game throwing 3 picks in this one, making that 9 in the last 2 games. The heisman hopeful needs to right the ship quick if the Gators want to win the SEC.

The Gators continue to have no running game and this is something they'll need to address in the coming weeks.
