2012 Week 12 2012 Week 12! Sorry for the delay guys. Just got home from work. We're still on schedule for the most part so no harm no foul. On a side note, I'm not seeing much activity from some lately. The game summaries have been lacking and there hasn't been much chatter overall. Let's pick it up. Next advance deadline is: Thursday 10 PM EST Clemson is unanimous #1 team! It'll be interesting to see if Coach Killajo is ready to take the reigns back in this one. Auburn has the SEC West and a date with the Gators all locked up in the SEC championship game so that's not on the line. But what is? A possible trip to a BCS Championship game. Bama is the more talented team, but Auburn has been hearing that all season long from their opponents and it hasn't slowed them down yet. The key to this one is simply turnovers. Alabama should have enough defensive talent to keep Auburn's offense in check and give themselves a shot at the win. It'll all come down to Alabama's QB Star Jackson not gifting the ball to Auburn and putting his defense in horrible situations. If Bama takes care of the ball, this game will come down to special teams and field position. I think Auburn's offense has more firepower and Bama still lacks identity. Star Jackson tries to make one too many plays in this one and Auburn's opportunistic defense will be ready and waiting. Auburn by 13. #5 Virginia at #12 VaTech This is the showdown that everyone inside the Virginia state lines has been waiting for. The Cavaliers have finally gained some respect and VaTech is looking to get back to the ACC Championship game. What a matchup and how important is this game. Winner goes to the championship, the loser goes home. VaTech is the flat out more talented team but they are very one dimensional. Coach MoGriff and the Cavaliers are very versed in the triple option attack since that's what they run at MoGriff's other day job at GaTech. He should know this offense inside and out. That doesn't mean he'll know how to stop it though. RW Sweetness had a monster game coming back from his injury/suspension and looks very fresh coming into this one. I think the Cavs will keep him in check but it'll be VaTech's QB's and other HB's who will be able to do the damage in this one. I'm taking Virginia. Being one dimensional is extremely tough against a good coach and I think the Hokies will find that out this week (again). Virginia by 6.
