The CPU gave SHSU a big F-U and decide a conference title and maybe a bowl are not in their relm of possibility. After a close loss to a much better Louisiana Tech team, the Bearkats were manhandled by what should have been an equally un-talented Idaho team. Conveniently, Sam Houston's top player, Richard Sincere, was already injured and near-1,000 yard halfback Tim Flanders was knocked out in the first quarter. Quarterback Brian Bell also missed time. Apparently, coach Majesty has done some misdeeds in his football life and the football Gods are making his team pay in big ways.

UNLV plays nice for Utah State and lets us end the season on a positive note. It was a 41-24 kind of game that would have been worse if I wasn't sloppy and in a hurry. Anyway, I'm out the do' right now to return on Monday night. I ain't got no bowl, I ain't got no title, ain't got no extra practicing. Ain't got no reaason stopping me from getting high....

South Alabama Finishes the Season Strong!!

Mobile- The Jaguars came into the game needing a win to become bowl eligable as they throttled the trojans of Troy 52-34. SA's leading rusher missed the rest of the 1st and 2nd quarter with a shoulder injury after catching and getting 55 yrds on a screen pass. Houston then took over and rushed for a season-high 137 yrds and 1 td. Bennett continued his strong game as he threw for 200+ yrds and 2 td's. The defense remained strong as they recorded 2 sacks as they contained the trojan attack most of the game. SA started strong as they struck early and often as they piled up 21 points in the 1st quarter. Bennett started early with a td pass to his Te, then Houston scored a td. Troy then scored one to close the gap to 14-7. Then on a sweep Wr Keels scored on a 48 yrd td run to extend the lead to 21-7 as the 1st quarter ended. Then Troy scored a Td on a Pass to close the gap to 21-14. Then Sa answered as Waldon beat the corner and hauled in a Td pass from 37 yrds out and Sa kept it up 28-14 as HT approached.

Then Sa kept up the pressure for Troy as the Trojan Defense couldn't stop the attack all game. Sa kicked a Fg and the lead grew to 31-14. Then after a Trojan 3 and out. Sa connected again as Johnson was wide open for a td pass and Sa kept going 38-14. Troy finally scored a td and then failed on the 2 point conversion and the lead was 18 for Sa. 38-20 as the 3rd quarter ended. Then Baker who was injured most of the game came in and provided a spark for the 2nd team as he scored from 2 yrds out and Sa extended the lead 45-20. Troy came back down and Southward took a draw and scored from 16 yrds out and the Trojans were still down 45-27. Sa went on a clock chewing drive as they took up over 3 min and 10 plays and Baker took the snap in the wildcat and ran it in and the Jags kept it up to 52-27. The Trojans scored again with less then 1 min left in the game as the score completed at 52-34. Sa recovered the onside and ran out the clock and the Jags completed an improbable situation as they won their last 4 games to bring their record to 6-6 and got Bowl eligabilty. The Jags found out Later they would get Toledo in a Bowl Game. The Coach had this to say after the Game.
