Tragedy strike the Aggies in Logan! Utah State's vision of an undefeated season ended today.

At Romney Stadium, the dreams of a nation were crushed when Utah run over, around, and through Utah State. The Utes blew out the Aggies 48 - 28, thanks to the remarkable running of John White IV. To paraphrase LL Cool J - White IV was running over brothers like a redneck trucker. Check out the video on the dynasty site. White busted four tackles on his way to a score, but only got credit for one.

The was an eff you game. I had the nerve to score a TD early and take the lead, and the computer didn't let me forget who's boss. The Utah All-American DT was picking the corn from my backfield's poop. He shut the run game down.

Passing was a chore, but I had opportunities. 7 dropped passed were recorded by the Aggies, and there really were about 3 more. The Aggies just buckled under the pressure of the bright lights. From the blown pass coverage below, to the pretend-tackling, to the butten fingered receivers, this game was terrible.

Next week we go to Camp Randall to face Wisconsin. Lovely.....
Is this the return of The Deisel Card?

Aggie fans watch horrific display of tackle breaking.

Alabama A&M Nips Kennesaw State 34-31 for 1st DIV 1A Win
The Bulldogs welcomed in bbrech0610 and his Kennesaw State Owls to Huntsville Alabama in a game between upstart programs. The Owls were coming in off a win over Palm Beach Atlantic while A&M was still in search of their 1st win. The Owls struck first when HB McNeil scored on a 49 yard TD run. The Bulldogs responded in the 2nd Qtr with 10 points when they converted on a 22 yard FG and then connected on a 19 yard TD pass to WR Andrews. The Owls came right back and tied the game at 10-10 on a 24 yard FG. The Bulldogs reclaimed the lead on a 4 yard run by HB Weaver with 2 minutes left in the half. The 3rd Qtr was quiet until A&M extended their lead to 24-10 when WR Hurd pulled in a 8 yard TD pass with 4 seconds left in the Qtr. The final Qtr got a little crazy as the Owls mounted a comeback and the Bulldogs tried to stay ahead. The Owls outscored the Bulldogs 21-10 in the final Qtr but it was not enough as A&M held on for a 34-31 win.
The key to victory for the Bulldogs was the 18:04 of possession compares to 9:56 for the Owls and the 4 INT's that they Bulldog defenders pulled in.
It was a great game by bbrech0610 Owl's and I look forward to the return match next season.
I will try and get some video up tonight from the game.

Better But Still Not Good Enough

HUNTSVILLE, Texas --- Sam Houston State rebounded from a blowout loss to BYU in week one of the college football season to give #16 TCU all it could handle on at Bowers Stadium. However, for the second straight week, the Bearkats tasted defeat and start their first season in the Football Bowl Subdivision 0-2. The game was broadcast regionally on Fox Sports.

TCU got out to a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter on a 32-yard option keeper from QB Casey Pachall. Sam Houston answered with a 35-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the quarter. The Horned Frogs added a field goal of their own (a 45-yard attempt) to provide the only scoring of the second quarter and led at the half 10-3.

TCU opened the scoring once again in the third as Brandon Carter hauled in a 12-yard pass from Pachall for a 17-3 lead. The Bearkats would answer with a 25-yard field goal and trailed 17-6 heading to the final frame.

Again, the Horned Frogs scored first in the quarter, this time on a 13-yard end around by Skye Dawson to go up 24-6. This all but put away the Bearkats. However, the 'Kats were not done fighting. Brian Bell hit tight end Akeem Ingram on a 60-yard pass to pull within 12. The two-point conversion failed and Sam Houston was staring at a 24-12 deficit with 4:31 to play.

Sam Houston decided to put the game in the hands of their defense which proved futile as TCU marched down the field and capped off the drive with a five-yard run by Ed Wesley. The Bearkats could not sustain either of their next two drives and the game ended in a 31-12 victory for TCU.

The schedule does not get any easier for Sam Houston nest week as they travel to Jonesboro to take on #21 Arkansas State. The 'Kats are trying to avoid their first three-game losing streak since 2005 and avoid starting the season 0-3 for the first time since 1997.

    TCU 31, Sam Houston 12

Marquette escapes Kentucky in a game that went back and forth. The Wildcats took the lead with just under 5 minutes to go. Marquette drove the ball, but came up empty after missing a field goal wide left with only 1:40 left of the clock. The Golden Eagles held Kentucky on 3 straight plays to force them to punt with right around 1:30 to go. Marquette cruised the ball down the field, needing only a field goal for the victory, but scored a TD when backup HB Darius Carlton put the ball in the endzone from 14 yards out. The final from Milwaukee Wisconsin was 33-28 Marquette over Kentucky.

Phoenix, AZ - It was clear from the very beginning that Arizona State was going to have their way with the Denver defense. They got the ball first and marched down the field for a TD and a quick 7-0 lead. The Pioneers responded with their best drive of the day. They worked their way down the field eventually tying the game behind a run from RB Nate Carlson. From there though, it was all Arizona State. 21 straight points saw them jump out to a 28-7 lead in the 3rd quarter. Denver wouldn't bow out and would get 10 more points, but they were never really competitive or threatening in this game.
