Guys - the 8th and 28th picks noted above needs to be swapped. When Cliff Lee was traded from Phils to Tigers, it was for the 28th pick and not the 8th. see link below. Per Pag, the game would only accept trading the 8th pick and Pag was going to fix it at time of the draft. Want to call it out here too so there are no issues. http://forums.traditionsportsonline.com/threads/phillies-tigers-trade.78220/ recchem2000 Pagamer07
I'll have the pick in sometime this evening, I'd like to look them over in the game and not just league reports. Unless its traded, expect it by 7 PM PT
with the first pick in the 2013 First year player Draft, The Detroit Tigers in a pick acquired from the Astros select: SP - Glenn "Top Dog" Simard - SIU Edwardsburg http://traditionsportsonline.com/tso-ootp/reports/html/players/player_31874.html The Baltimore Orioles are on the clock: ryalaman
Baltimore Orioles select: LF Dave Moore http://traditionsportsonline.com/tso-ootp/reports/html/players/player_32608.html recchem2000 is now up
Gonna take a bit of a risk here with the 3rd overall pick. The Dodgers select CL Orlando Jaramillo http://traditionsportsonline.com/tso-ootp/reports/html/players/player_32172.html Hoping he can develop a third pitch. ZCar352 you are up

1. SP Glen "Top Dog" Simard (Detroit) Pros: Intelligence, Work Ethic, ++ Stuff and Control, + Movement, ++ Velocity Cons: Stamina, Signability Notes: This was an easy pick at #1. He was by far the best SP available in this year's draft class, and better than any of the pitchers drafted in 2012. If this guy can stay healthy, he is easily an Ace. Very much reminds me of Detroit's own Justin Verlander but with more control. His only negative though is his low stamina. I'd like to see stamina of at least 8 from an ace, but with his control he should be fine. He also has two huge intangibles in Very High Work Ethic and Intelligence. Grade: A+
2. LF Dave Moore (Baltimore) Pros: ++ Arm and Range. ++ Power. + Contact and Speed Cons: Greed, Signability Notes: I hate this pick at #2. I mean, he's a solid player. He has legit power (one of highest in the class) and excellent Range in the outfield and a great arm. His speed and contact are above average. Unfortunately he is not as good as the 2 Five Tool guys drafted much lower than him last year. He's a bit flawed with his slightly above average eye, and his tendency to make his fair share of errors in the outfield. But the big reason I hate it is because Ryal passed up an on base machine in LF Carlos Mendoza. I'll evaluate Mendoza later, but suffice it to say that Moore is not going to have as big an impact as Mendoza will. Grade: B
