Tiger Shock! Coach Dean Steps Down

According to beat reporter, JP Richards, Auburn HC Oldie Dean has announced his resignation tonight, citing "irrevocable differences" with long-time AD Jay Jacobs. Defensive Coordinator, Paul David Jr., will be given the reigns in hopes of continuing the Auburn's impressive season. David, who first gained national attention at UTEP for his aggressive, multi-look 4-2-5 defense, is only in his first season with the Tigers, but has garnished local admiration for his disciplined, hard-nosed style and engaging personality with the press.

The new coach will be tested early and often, as he faces off against #16 Georgia this upcoming Saturday and the #4 Crimson Tide the week following.
It's unknown whether or not a strong finish will net David opportunity for an extension come the off-season, but if not, it certainly could open up the door for a coaching opportunity elsewhere. Stay tuned, folks.
