Bar set high for Clemson football in 2013
CLEMSON, South Carolina -- The off-season has seen the Tiger's go through numerous changes. Most notable, Coach CTfromDC replacing Coach Dabo Swinney as the Head Football Coach of this storied program. With Clemson fresh off an upset victory over the touted LSU Tigers in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, and their first 11 win season since their only National Championship (1981), no one would have thought that Coach Swinney would retire after only 4 years.
Enter Coach CTfromDC. even with experience coaching at Auburn as a defensive coordinator in 2012, he was a relative unknown and totally off the radar. Coach CT walks into a great situation. He inherits the #9 ranked team by the USA Today and 11th by the AP (2013 Winter), Led by Senior QB Tahj Boyd and Sophomore sensation Sammy Watkins. Four out of Five starting O-line returning brings a sense of cohesiveness to the unit. They will need it after losing top running back Andre Ellington. DeAndre Hopkins will be a huge weapon lost as well, but Sammy Watkins has proven that he is prime-time ready. Chad Morris will be retained as Offensive Coordinator for the 2013 season, the Tigers averaged over 40 points per game in 2012, due in part to his offensive genius.

Tahj Boyd at a Spring Practice, looks to lead the Clemson Tigers to their first National Title in almost 25 years. He will be a dark-horse candidate for the Heisman this year.
Defensively, The Tigers have shown improvement over the past 5 years under defensive coordinator Brent Venables, who obviously knows what he is doing, and is the primary reason Coach CT decided to keep him on staff. Officially, Clemson has just six starters returning on defense and only two of the top six tacklers return, but there are 10 returning on defense who started at least 5 games last year. Spencer Shuey and Stephone Anthony return to solidify that linebacker corp. Josh Watson, Travis Blanks, Grady Jarrett, Corey Crawford, and Quandon Christian all return to help this defensive continue to improve. They will miss Mallicah Goodman, led the team with 95 tackles with 10.5 being for a loss. Ball-hawking Safety Rashard Hall will be missed as well.
    2013 Outlook and expectations
ACC Championship or bust. Simple. Nothing less that the ACC championship will suffice. This team has hit its stride and is in good shape with veteran leadership top to bottom, to get them over the hump. Next year will be a retooling year no doubt, but we are in the now, and now is the time to win!
    2013 Recruiting
Coach CT's priority should be to land replacement for Boyd, and to solidify the secondary. With some aging players ready to graduate, those will definitely be priorities. The trenches can use a bolster as well, on both sides. The prestigious Clemson University should have no problems gaining the commitment of young phenoms ready to apart of something magical.

Clemson Fighting Tigers Football - Re-Tooling Report

1.) Prospect to join Watkins and Peake should they stick around for their Senior seasons...Either way, we will be set at WR for the next 3-4 years. Eddie B has good size, great speed and acceleration, and has decent hands. He must improve in his route running and learn to catch everything thrown him way. Under the tutelage of Junior Receivers Watkins and Peake, I'm sure he will learn alot.

2.) Adam Wilson is looking like a gem. He is from Clinton , Md, A suburban city in Southern PG County MD, just minutes from where Coach CT currently lives. Homegrown talent is a plus. He can play Corner, Safety, Lineback, hell, He could play TE or Reciever if we asked him too. Clemson definitely will be "winning" at life if he stays the course and signs his letter of intent.

    3. This guy can flatout Ball. I have T Boyd leaving to play in the pro's next season, but also a red-shirted Freshmen in Chad Kelly who is ready to pick the Offensive reigns. Coach CT is tryin move a way from the Read Option, and Sheldon may be able to help facilitate that. He has a strong arm and is accurate. He isn't that quick or mobile, but can extend plays long enough to get the ball out. He is a little on the short side, but that doesn't matter much in our program.

4.) Brian is ranked #24 on ESPNU's top 150. He is also the #1 QB recruit in the land. He is a skilled QB with a big arm, and big size. He will fit nicely in system. He is my second choice, should Sheldon Johnson decide to go elsewhere. Either way, we will have a nice QB to redshirt for a year.

    Clemson gets it's first commitment!

Death Valley, SC --- Coach CT and the Clemson Fighting Tigers are happy to announce the signing of the letter of intent for one Sheldon Johnson. Sheldon was ranked #2 in the potential QB's on ESPNU's top 150. "We saw something in this young man that we thought would help up in a few years from now. With Tajh moving on, probably to the the NFL, and with Redshirt Freshman Chad Kelly laying in wait, Johnson will more than likely be redshirted, which I have already discussed with him, and he is absolutely okay with that. That said, we want to let everyone else know, go home, he's coming to Death Valley!" said an ecstatic Coach CT at the press conference held in Tillman Auditorium late last night.
Clemson has two other QB's in it's sights, yes TWO! Brian Liston (#24 overall and #1 QB on ESPNu top 150). Liston is said to be a little upset and may turn his focus to the Canes in Miami who have heavily recruited the young man from Maryland Heights, MO. The other QB is a relative unknown out of a small town in North Carolina, Jon Foster. Foster is listed as an Athlete, and can play multiple positions. Clemson has made it clear that they will use him wherever needed, but prefers to groom him as a QB. Either way, their will be tons of competition at QB, and based on Boyd's performance and decision making this year, it will be a welcome change for Coach CT.
