    Update 9/24

Clemson closes its 2013 recruiting classes with the #8 HB Tim Johnston. Johnston is a big bruising back that likes to run poeple over rather than around them.

Sounds like a perfect fit for your offense.

LOL...I know, we are a Pro Power team. SMH. I didn't get the back I wanted and settled for this guy. Being the #8 HB, maybe I can find a way to use him.

I don't like slow backs myself but I've seen a couple guys in the experience use them well. You aren't going to break those huge runs around the outside but when your back has like 90+ trucking he pretty much falls forward for a few yards every time he gets hit.

I just hope I can find a way to use him and not a waste of a scholarship.

Indiana's backup HB Matt Perez has been starting the past 4 or 5 games due to Houston breaking his collarbone and he's a pretty good bruiser. 81 trucking and 71 break tackle, so not the best but pretty good for us and he's getting 4.6 yards per carry because he breaks some tackles and almost always falls forward.

Even if you're not a power run team, you can still find ways to make him useful as long as you're patient and don't expect him to break many runs beyond 15 yards.

He'll find a way to throw an interception first. It's a waste of a scholarship. ;)
