Florida State will be looking to mainly upgrade some key defensive areas of the ball next fall. The Seminoles will be pretty thin, depth wise, in both the linebacking and deep secondary portions of their defense. Look for first year head coach Derrick Brooks to make a spalsh in these areas this season. We will use this thread to feature some of Florida State's top recruits and players who could potentialy help them out a year from now in Tallahassee. We'll also post updates as to where these recruits land once their letters of intent are filed. Stay tuned and enjoy!

    FB - Nik Pleasant

Chad Abram has been playing an important role in FSU’s running game this year. The talented FB is, however; a senior. That leads us to the heavily recruited Nik Pleasant from Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, FL. Pleasant is the #1 rated FB in the country and is being heavily recruited by both FSU and UF. The two instate rivals seem to be separating themselves in Pleasant’s short list of schools. Keep your eyes on this one folks, Pleasant is a key target in the FSU recruiting trail.

    OLB - Clifton Henderson

The most talented recruit on the Seminoles’ current big board may be OLB Clifton Henderson. Henderson is a four star, 6’2 229 pound mauler. Henderson has stood out state wide at Salisbruy High School in North Carolina, and is currently listed in ESPN’s top 150. As a junior, Henderson recorded 2 INTs, 6 sacks, 80 tackles, and even scored once. He’s on pace so far this year to surpass those statistics in his senior year of ball.

    FS - Anthony Mitchell
    [IMG]

The Seminoles and coach Brooks have stated that one area they must improve depth on is both the FS and SS positions. That brings us to Pensacola, FL for a look at four star recruit Anthony Mitchell. Mitchell currently plays ball for the Pensacola Tigers and has been making noise all season. Standing 6’2, Mitchell has good size for a safety and has drawn comparisons to former LSU Tiger Eric Reid. FSU appears to be a favorite among Mitchell’s list of schools as they are the only “big league” school on the board. Some give the edge to the USF Bulls in Tampa, FL to land this recruit, but rest assured Seminole nation; D. Brooks is on this trail!
