Washington 27 Boise St 21 Game started out with both teams offenses moving the ball well. Not much defense played in the first half. Washington kicked a FG from the 1 yard line as the first half ended to take a 3 point lead. In the 3rd quarter, both teams started turning the ball over and neither team put points on the board. To open the 4th Washington's jessie Callier broke a 75 TD yard run on an option pitch. After another stop, washington added a FG to take a 13 point lead. Boise came back with a quick TD, but time was not on their side. Washington recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock to close the game. Ducks 38 buffalos 24 After not officially gaining 100 yds in each of the previous 5 games the black mamba busted out of his slump rushing for 334 yds and 2 scores. His best run was his last of the night when he broke free up the middle to clinch the game on a 72 yrd TD run. Mariotta started off hot throwing 2 td's on his 1st 2 passes, but he would finish with under 170 passing and throwing 2 picks.
Washington 31 Stanford 14 Washington's offense looked polished cutting through the cardinals like a lumber jack. The Huskies first drive ended in a FG, then their 3rd drive ended on a goal line interception. For the rest of the game the dawgs could not be stopped. Despite this, Stanford kept the game close for 3 quarters. A missed FG before the half hurt Stanford, but after an opinion 2nd half TD, the Washington lead was closed to 3 points. Unfortunately Stanford's defense could not come up with the stops to keep them in the game. A 4th quarter goalline stand by the Huskies sealed Stanford's fate. Coach McCringleberry actually spent some time working with his team in practice and it showed on the field. Washington: Price 12/14 241 yards 2 TD 1 INT Sankey 17 carries 169 yards 2 TD Jenkins 5 catches 136 yards Stanford: Hogan 8/14 204 2 INT 2 rushing TD Wilkerson 15 carries 54 yards Montgomery 3 catches 136 yards GG Cheez
0-8 on third down and 0-2 on fourth down shows how bad the Cyclone offense was. Texas wins easily in a shutout performance. #11 Texas 41 - Iowa St 0
WVU 42 CAL 21 Zach Kline at QB is legit, dude hit like 80% for near 300 yards and no picks. Meanwhile, Ford Childress threw TDs and INTs in equal measure during a 400 yard passing day.
30vs32 And Down the Stretch They Win comback to defeat Rutgers 32-30 It was a tale of two haves in Dallas as the Scarlet Knights built a 27-7 first half lead, only for SMU to control the second half 25-3 en route to a last second victory. Despite the fact that SMU opened the scoring on a 50 yard INT TD return by SS Jay Scott, Rutgers scored the next 27 points on the strength of QB G. Nova's pin-point passing and SMU turnovers. The Mustangs began their comeback in the third-quarter once the offense settled down and avoided mistakes. Fourteen third quarter points cut the lead to 27-21 entering the fourth. A Rutgers FG with just over two minutes to play appeared to clinch the game for the Knights, but a quick TD pass from QB Garrett Gilbert to WR Keenan Holman put SMU within striking distance at 30-28, even if the upcoming onside kick failed. Nevertheless, the Mustangs recovered the onside kick and held possession until K Chase Hover split the uprights from 31 yards out with no time remaining. @cpu, Good game. I thought you had me. Luckily your QB wasn't as accurate in the second half. Notable Stats QB Garrett Gilbert - 23/33, 252 yards, 2 TD, 4 INT HB Rishaad Wimbley - 9 car, 62 yards, TD, long 28; 5 rec, 9 yards, long 11 WR Keenan Holman - 3 rec, 102 yards, TD, long 71 WR Darius Joseph - 4 rec, 49 yards, TD, long 25 SS Jay Scott - 5 tack, INT, TD
Arizona 16 USC 7 Both defenses stood strong all game. Only one turnover and a lot of punting the ball back to each other. Ka'Deem Carey was again a workhorse, carrying the ball 32 times. USC though kept him bottled up and held him to 110 yards. Neither team scored or turned the ball over in the first half until Riggleman hit a 41-yarder as time expired in the half to go up 3-0. After stopping USC's offense, Carey led Arizona on a TD drive to go up 10-0, holding the USC to under 100 yards in the 1st half. USC went on a fast, 6 play TD drive, bringing it back to 10-7. A Jake Fischer INT set up Arizona for another FG drive, giving Arizona a 13-7 lead. After stopping USC with about 3 minutes left, Carey ran out the clock, eating up first down. We need Carey in the offense, just hoping he doesn't suffer an injury. QB Javelle Allen- 8-14 for 77 yards, 7 carries for 39 yards HB Ka'Deem Carey- 32 carries for 110 yards, TD HB D. Jenkins- 4 carries for 32 yards WR Garic Wharton- 2 receptions for 28 yards MLB Jack Fischer- 7 tackles, INT
Boise 35 Kansas 32 We just aren't good....especially on defense where we allow shitty Kansas to march up and down the field at will. A win is a win but if this were the pros I'd be tanking for a draft pick.
Washington 41 Oregon 28 After getting rolled on 3 straight possession in the first half, Washington's defense comes up big in the second half. Oregon came out looking strong converting all 3 first half offensive possessions into Touchdowns, while on defense forcing a punt and a FG from washington. The first half end with Oregon ahead 21-17 and receiving the second half kick. Mariota opened the second half with a pick to give washington the ball at midfield. Facing a blitz Keith Price hit Kevin smith on a post that went the distance to take a 24-21 lead. Oregon came back with a drive that died at midfield, but the punt pinned Washington inside the 1 yard line. The Huskies offense flew in to high gear, driving 99 yards to take a 10 point lead. On the next drive, DE Josh "don't call me" Shirley got through the Right Tackle and hit Mariota as he was throwing. The ball came loose, It was ruled a fumble, and the huskies recovered in the redzone to clinch the game. With Sankey going down early in the first half, Keith Price had to deliver a flawless game to out score the ducks, and keep washington away from costly turnovers. Washington: Price 17-22 265 yards 3TD Kasin Williams 6 catches 61 yards 2 TDs A.S. Jenkins 6 catches 96 yards Oregon Mariota 15/22 252 yards 3 TD, 2 INT, 1 Rushing TD, 1 FL Thomas 16 carries 63 yards 1 TD Huff 4 catches 73 yards 1 TD GG bringbackjimmy, I did not know how I was going to slow down your offense after that first half. Thankfully you shot yourself in the foot a bit. I was concerned I lost the game when you destroyed my defense and forced me 3 and out. I could not envision stoping your offense.
Arizona 27 Utah 7 Arizona's defense was solid once again, holding the pesky no-huddle offense to just 1 score. Utah still was able to slow down Arizona's offense for the most part, trailing 13-7 at half. On Arizona's first drive of the 3rd, Javelle Allen hit WR Austin Hill on 17-yard post for a TD, going up 20-7. Ka'Deem Carey put the game out of reach in the 4th quarter with a 40-yard untouched TD run. Arizona is now 5-1, 2-0 in the conference. They travel to Colorado next week before 2 key Pac-12 South home games vs. UCLA and Cal. QB Javelle Allen- 10-13 for 116 yards, TD, 4 carries for 21 yards HB Ka'Deem Carey- 21 carries for 125 yards, TD HB D Jenkins- 14 carries for 51 yards, TD WR Austin Hill- 3 receptions for 65 yards, TD
Boise St 24 Texas 17 Yep, you read that right, the Broncos won a user game. Rumors on campus abound with stories that Coach Dru has been telling potential defensive recruits that they will definitely start next year over the "limp dicks playing out there now". It must have lit a fire under them because for the first time all year the defense played average, which is a definitive step up. The offense played mistake free football and had multiple long ball control drives to further help the defense by keeping them on the field. The win puts Boise at 3-3 and with at least a shot at a bowl. Good game MexiRican35, those sacks on the final drive were a killer.
Washington 70 Idaho 0 Lambs to the slaughter, Idaho cremated by the Huskies. Backups got to play the second half, Idaho managed no defensive stops and 3 and outed most drives. It got ugly.
WVU 56 SMU 14 The Mustangs didn't stand a chance in this one. The Mountaineers had their way early and often forcing punts and INTs with the SMU D unable to get them off of the field. Garret Gilberts 4th INT of the game came early in the 3rd quarter. That pick went for 6 points the other way giving WVU a 42-0 lead. Each team picked up a couple TDs in garbage time with the coaches each just experimenting and such. GG Boom29 I know it wont be that easy next time given our history
SMU had zero running attempts by anyone but their QB, which I'm assuming were sacks. That's gotta be some kinda record, right?
Oh, and by the way, it's patently unfair that the schedule makers didn't let SMU and Boise play for the right to determine the worst Big 12 user team. Right Boom29?
I won't go into my gameplan for undisclosed reasons, but yes, all but one those were sacks. Truth be told, I know I can come out in my 4 Wide and audible to a run on any play and get 3-4 yards, but I'm trying to make sure I rely on my passing game. With the game against Wyrm over after the first quarter, there was no reason to use the run to keep him honest.
Hell, do what ya gotta do I say. I'm having to force myself not to pass, so I'm going the opposite route. I've just never seen that stat line before. Tom Brady would be jealous of that pass/run ratio.
yeah, it was like 12 or more sacks. 10 combined from my DEs. Boom faired well against the blitz, but when I sent a 3 man rush he often held it too long.
Boise 31 BYU 19 Big win to get us over .500. Ball control on offense (33 runs, 11 passes), and no mistakes. Only one stop on defense sadly but with all the running we shortened the game enough to get the W.
Texas' horns are just longer than TCU's It was TCU, not Texas, who was #2 in the land with the highest scoring offense and undefeated season. The Forgs kicked themselves into an early 3-0 lead. After trading punts, the Texas offense started rolling. Ash threw some great passes that lead to a HB Bergeron TD. Then Ash would complete 4 straight passes and hand off to Bergeron for a TD right before halftime. Texas would then start the ball in the 3rd and, guess who, Bergeron muscled his way in for another score and a 21-3 Longhorn lead. TCU was having problems getting rolling on offense, as they dealt with 2nd and long and dropped key first down passes. But being down by 17, they started clicking. QB Pachall would score on a 20 yard keeper. TCU would get the ball back and drive deep into Longhorn territory. But Pachall forced a pass to Carter, and was picked off by CB Thomas. The Longhorns would go 3 n out though, giving the ball back to TCU. TCU would score, making it 21-17. But they scored with only 2:02 left in the game. With all three timeouts, TCU kicked off hoping for a three and out. Bergeron would hear nothing of the sort, bulldozing his way for a first and the game on third and short.
