    Penn St. 31
    Clemson 63

    - What started out as a typical season opener, quickly turned into a battle to simply finish the game. With :17 seconds to go in the third quarter, Clemson closes to within 7 points. However, the connection was lost.

In the second game, Penn State starts with a 7 point lead only to lose their advantage when they fail to recover an onside kick. With the game tied at the end of the 1st quarter (Which would have been the end of the game) we decide to play the game out in its entirety.

Unfortunately, the connection is lost again, this time with Clemson up. The third and final game went all in the Tiger's favor and was a tough loss for the coach from Penn State who put up a great fight and was a great sport. GG C Young

Miami travels to Hoosier town and takes out Indiana 27-9 to open the season

Both teams rushed the ball well today, but Indiana had two costly turnovers in the first half that Miami turned into 10 points.

Both offenses were clearly rusty in the first quarter and the game went into the 2nd scoreless. Early in the 2nd quarter Miami capped off a drive with a 22-yard TD from QB Ryan Williams to WR Rashawn Scott. Indiana answered with a long 3 1/2 minute drive but had to settle for a field goal to bring the score to 7-3. On Miami's next possession sophomore HB Duke Johnson bounced off an open field tackle attempt then broke free for a 58-yard TD. After Indiana QB Tre Roberson threw an interception Miami was able to put together a quick drive at the end of the half but got held at the 1 yard line and was forced to settle for a field goal. 17-3 at halftime.

The third quarter opened much like the first with a few three and outs, but about midway through the quarter Miami true freshman QB Chris Clark took the ball for a 42-yard run on a busted option play, then Clark ran for the TD a few plays later. With the score at 24-3 Miami went into prevent mode and played it safe. Indiana took advantage of the prevent and Tre Roberson threw a 4-yard TD to WR Jamonne Chester, but Indiana got stuffed at the 1-yard line on the 2-point conversion. Miami was forced to punt on the following possession and Indiana drove down the field again but the drive stalled when Roberson got sacked by Star LB Denzel Perryman. Miami stopped the Hoosiers on 4th then just ran out the clock to get the victory on opening night.

Player of the Game: Miami sophomore HB Duke Johnson with 14 carries for 112 yards and a TD.

Notables: Miami QBs Williams and Clark combined for 15/25 completions 184 yards 1 TD and no interceptions. Indiana QB Tre Roberson had a dismal passing day, only completing 8/24 passes for 115 yards 1 TD 1 INT, but he made his biggest plays with his feet rushing for 68 yards on 11 carries.

    GG skinny.

Next week Miami travels to Nebraska(Uncle Gamer) for a big test against the ranked Cornhuskers.

    28 vs 14

The Virginia Tech Hokies open the season up on the road against one of two most underrated coaches in Overdrive Coach Wreckem and the Minnesota Gophers. The first to quarters went scoreless as the Hokies missed a 47 yd field goal. But the name of the game in this battle was dropped passes for both teams. Right before halftime the Hokies would strike first with a 87 TD punt return by HB Coleman. This would end half with the Hokies 7-0 and them getting the ball back after half. The Hokies would go up 14-0 before the Gophers would come back with a TD pass to make the score 14-7. The Hokies would then pull away but the Gophers would make a late TD in with 1:00 left in the 4th quarter to make it a respectable 28-14.

Minnesota can't keep up, loses to #25 Maryland 44-35
    [IMG]

Max Shortell threw for 379 yards and 4 touchdowns but it wasn't enough as Minnesota lost to Maryland on Saturday night. The Golden Gophers came into this game 0-1 after a loss against #18 Virginia Tech. Things started off well for Minnesota as they were able to stay ahead during most of the game until in the second the offense was unable to keep up the pace they had.

Defensively it was a terrible performance. The Golden Gophers gave up 568 yards to the Maryland offense, and they gained those yards in many different ways.

The Good: True FR WR Blake Caldwell is a PLAYER. He had several long receptions that wowed the crowd. We may have to worry about this guy leaving in three years. He ended up with 235 yards on 7 catches. All this playing outside receiver! Max Shortell had two INTs, one was before halftime throwing deep and the other was toward the end of the game. He played well and put the ball where it was needed most of the time.

The Bad: Defense as a whole. Terrible. Couldn't get off the field. Dropped passes became a bit of an issue in the second half.

A heartbreaking loss to be sure. Minnesota takes the flying gopher on the road to Kentucky next week in search of win #1.

Indiana erases 14-3 deficit to beat NC State, 31-20

    1 2 3 4 F
    NC State 0 17 3 0 20
    Indiana 3 14 7 7 31

After losing to Miami in a game that seemed worse than 27-9, Indiana got down 14-3 midway through the second quarter against NC State and it looked like Indiana may be headed for a pretty rough season. But it was actually an injury to starting QB Tre Roberson which knocked him out for the rest of the half that put Indiana back in the game. Backup QB Cameron Coffman (who played a lot last year) came in and led the Hoosiers on a quick scoring drive, capped off by a 22 yard touchdown pass to WR Kofi Hughes. After NC State added a field goal and then kicked the ball into the endzone, Indiana had it on their own 20 with 2 seconds until halftime. In an unlikely turn of events (and on a play that had no replay for some reason), Coffman found Hughes again streaking down the right sideline and hit him in stride. He took the ball the rest of the way for an 80 yard touchdown that tied the game at 17 at the half.

In the second half, Roberson came back on the field and only threw 1 pass the rest of the game. Indiana had a mix of option plays, jet sweeps, and runs every direction to three different backs which proved to be effective enough and the defense tightened up, only allowed 3 points the entire second half. NC State kicked a field goal to pull within 4 points just before the third quarter ended, and Indiana answered with a 15 play, 81 yard drive that took 5 1/2 minutes off the clock and left the Wolfpack down 11 with 1:52 remaining in the game. A few plays later, Indiana CB Greg Heban picked off NC State QB Tyler Brosius and Indiana ran out the rest of the clock.

So now Indiana is in a tough spot at QB. Tre Roberson has proved he struggles to make accurate throws most of the time, but it's impossible to ignore his threat as a runner - both in the option and on designed QB runs. While he's much slower, Cameron Coffman can run the ball at times, but his real strength is in the passing game. The passing game with Roberson in the game is just pathetic, but Indiana has struggled to run the ball at times with Coffman taking the snaps.

No problem man. The only required Game Summaries are from user vs user games. And then, only the winner of the game is required to do a summary. We do enjoy all the game summaries posted, so feel free to post away though.

Lol that's Greg Heban, he's really good - at least by Indiana standards (88 ovr, 92 speed, 92 accel, 95 pursuit, 90 man, 90 zone). He had 5 picks last year and returned 2 for TDs.

    THE FSU 48
    Georgia Tech 17

After allowing the Yellow Jackets to run down the field for their first score the Seminole defense showed up. Offensively, FSU was held to two field goals on their first two possessions. But then it became Freshman Jameis Winston's coming out party as he threw for close to 400 yards with 5 touchdown passes. He also ran one in and when he did, he appeared to grab is crotch and say fuck you Chris Clark, which apparently might spark a rivalry with the Miami Freshman starter QB who is rumored to be looking to transfer to Florida State. In the end there was no doubt once again that Florida State is the best team in the Nation.

    FSwho?

17 points given up to GaTech? That's sad. The U won't let that option garbage cross the line of scrimmage. Nor will the U give up 400 yards...not even 250...to some freshman scrub QB.

jonskinny12 played a tough game commanding an underrated 1-1 Indiana squad, keeping it close in the in the first half while putting the breaks on a powerful Arkansas offense. The Hoosiers had the momentum going into halftime down 14-10. Luckily Brandon Mitchell of the Razorbacks played a mistake free game throwing for 238 yards and three td passes, Davis had a somewhat of a typical day in the office gaining 115 yards on 15 carries. Coming into the game the Razorbacks had planned on running the ball a good deal but some good blitz packages but Indy put a brief stop to that, the nations leading rusher had to improvise on at lot of carries to get some key first downs and decent gains. In the fourth quarter the Indiana Hoosiers made a QB change in hopes of creating some offense, the Hogs then pinned their ears back and went after him getting a few sacks and putting a stamp on the win.

    27----------------------31

Words cannot describe how amazing this comeback win was for the #18 Hokies over the Penn State Nitnay Lions. It looked like PSU had the game in the bag early when the Lions jumped out to a 13-3 lead going into halftime with the Hokies struggling to get anything going. After the half the Hokies finally scored 7 to put the game at 27-10 game but again the Hokies offense sputtered and the defense was struggling as well to slow down the roll of Penn State. Then thunder struck as the 4th quarter came in and the Hokies finally pulled their head out their asses and finally started getting stops and the offense started to click. After all was said in done it came down to the Hokies having the ball on the 2 yard line with first and goal. Coach Magoo decided to make the Lions eat their last time out and the Hokies to a QB kneel to force the Lions timeout. Then on the 2nd and goal the Hokies punch it in with just 55 seconds left on the game clock and now with an amazing 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter it was 31-27 Hokies. Now it was up to the Tech defense to keep Penn State out of the endzone and hold onto an amazing comeback. PSU drove down to their own 40 yard line and did a pass to the wideout who had been burning VA Tech all day, but this time the corner steps up and make a great intereption sealing the game for the Hokies.

    PSU VA Tech
    Total Yds 362 449

    Rushing 23-12-2 27-131-2

    Passing 14-26-1 287 yds 10-24-2 179 yards

    Turnovers 2 4

    Time of Poss 12:01 15:59

    Great Game Cudy...WOW..

the highlights will not upload, I have some good ones for both teams. Dang EA

Miami takes out Wake Forest 57-13

Miami's offensive line completely dominated today, with three HBs nearly getting 100 yards rushing each.

After starting out 21-13 and this game looking like it might stay close, Miami's rushing attack took over. Sophomore HB Duke Johnson led the way with 25 carries for 188 yards and 2 TDs. Back-up HB junior Edwardo Clements came in during the third quarter and rushed the ball 17 times for 115 yards and a score. In the 4th quarter 3rd string HB Dallas Crawford came in and rushed for 95 yards. And true freshman QB Chris Clark had his best game yet, completing 10/10 passes for 251 yards and 3 TDs.

Next week the Hurricanes will face a weak Syracuse squad, but the week after is Miami's first big test against division rival Clemson.

Indiana plays worst possible game, loses to winless Kentucky 27-24

Words can't even express how pissed off I am right now. Kentucky RBs slipping at least one tackle on 9 out of 10 runs, Indiana's run blocking was terrible, dropped passes across the board, down 17-0 with just 35 total yards of offense going into the half. Then got up 24-20 and let Kentucky walk down the field and score again, just to throw a stupid interception. That was the worst possible game Indiana could have played against such a bad opponent. Maybe I should just quit like the former VT coach.

Of course. I'd never quit because I lost or because my team sucks. Besides, it's just one game. Conference record is 0-0 which means there's still hope for a conference championship.
