Coach Josh B is bringing the swagger back to THE U. That's right. After years of disappointment the U is ready to rise back to the top. Last season coach Chris C did a solid job with the Hurricanes but coach Josh B is looking to improve on the 2-loss season with an undefeated season, ACC championship, and national championship!

    Offensive Outlook

In a surprising move, coach Josh B kicked senior QB Stephen Morris off the team for academic reasons. Woody Paige said "I can't believe that arrogant coach down in Miami kicked Morris off the team. Apparently a 3.9 GPA isn't good enough to play at the U." After kicking Morris off the team many people thought junior QB Ryan Williams would be Morris' successor but coach B announced on Friday that true freshman Chris Clark will start at QB. The Miami Herald quoted coach B saying "Clark is the most athletic QB I've ever seen. This guy is going to make RG3's heisman run look like nothing."

Returning All-American sophomore HB Duke Johnson should see the majority of Miami's carries. He's extremely fast but had trouble holding onto the ball last year. Senior WR Allen Hurns is coming off an NCAA leading 1260-yard season. It'll be hard for him to repeat that performance but he'll surely make life easier on the young QB. Miami will also be returning one of the best offensive lines in the country, made up of five returning starters.

    Defensive Outlook

Known for their dominant defenses of the past, Miami will once again have a strong defense this year. The front 6 will be anchored by junior All-American MLB Denzel Perryman, who won the Nagurski award last year. Many are drawing comparisons of Perryman with former Miami star(and murderer) Ray Lewis. Miami has talented but inexperienced corners, and star senior FS AJ Highsmith who is looking forward to finally start after sitting behind Ray Ray Armstrong for the past three seasons.

    Recruiting

This Miami squad has a lot of young talent but there's some key areas coach Josh B will have to revamp to lead this team into a solid future.

HB-Despite having the young star Duke Johnson, Miami needs a couple more HBs to add some depth
LB-Miami has all upperclassmen starting LBs so coach B will need to find a couple replacements
Kicker-Miami's most desperate area, The Canes will be pushing hard for a top-notch kicker

The 2013 Miami Hurricanes have 21 scholarships available(17+2+2). They will be using Oregon's PB, and the 3-3-5 defense.

    2013 MIAMI HURRICANES RECRUITING

    COMMITS

    1) ATH #8(4 star, 81) - 5'10 - 180 lbs - projected HB or CB
    2) WR #23(4 star, 71) - 5'11 - 181 lbs - This guy surprised our scouts with his speed. He will be a good addition to the WR corps after redshirting.

POSSIBLE COMMITS(aka these guys are close to signing...just need to send over a couple more hookers to seal the deal)

    1) ATH #1(5 star, 84) - This guy has so much talent he could be a first year starter as the floating safety in Miami's 3-3-5 system
    2) QB #1(5 star, 80) - Despite being one of the fastest QB prospects, he's also the most accurate of the incoming class.
    3) T#17(3 star, 79) - Max Washington surprised our scouts with his dominance in his senior high school opener. This underrated stud will be a great addition.
    4) DE #3(4 star, 76) - His parents really want him to stay in Miami for college. Hopefully he doesn't decide to travel to Vtech.

    OTHER TARGETS

Coach Josh B is fairly satisfied with his current depth across the board. If we can land the two 5-stars we're working hard on then that'll let us shift our focus to defense and offensive line. We have a couple problem areas on defense - the main two being OLB and CB depth, so we'll be addressing these areas in coming weeks.

Guys who didn't sign wit Da U(aka these haters are going to regret their decision)

    1) K#8 - This a-hole told coach B he was ready to come to the U but then changed his mind at the last second and went to Auburn.

Meh I don't even care too much about the QB but you came out of nowhere on that DT. Must be nice starting with all A pitches across the board. It's ok though, I'll take you down even with inferior players :)

    3) T #17(3 star gem, 79) - 6'7 - 301 lbs - Luckily for us nobody went after this monster. After redshirting and putting on a few more pounds he'll be ready to play
    4) ATH #40(3 star, 74) - 6'4 - 241 lbs - McClain is a versatile athlete. We aren't sure where he'll be playing but he could end up at LB, S, or QB.
    5) DE #3(4 star, 76) - 6'6 - 247 - great pass rusher out of the 305
    6) TE #9(4 star, 76) - 6'7 - 257 - Mel Kiper compares James Green to the Gronk.
    7) CB #4(4 star, 75) - 5'11 - 160 - What this guy lacks in size he more than makes up for with his speed and anticipation
    8) WR #11(4 star, 76) - 6'0 - 185 - Not the fastest of receivers but he has great hands and knows how to run great routes
    9) G #1(5 star, 89) - 6'3 - 292 - This physical monstrosity was rated the #1 player overall in ESPN's top 150.
    10) P #4(3 star, 79) - 6'1 - 217 - He's leading the state of Louisiana in net yardage per punt.
    11) ATH #9(4 star, 76) - 6'2 - 190 - Trey Jordan almost qualified for the London olympics in the 100m so he's a great athlete. He'll most likely play CB.

Even though we have 21 scholarships available it's looking like we may only sign 15-16 players this recruiting cycle. Hopefully next season young coach Josh B can build on his success from this year and bring in more talent.
