    Disappointing

Oklahoma was playing catch-up all game long. Early turnovers put the Sooner in a whole. Sophomore Marques Robinson proved that maybe he is not ready for the starting job. He threw an INT in the red zone on our first drive of the season. He would also miss many wide open receivers. Robinson would be replaced at half-time by Sophomore Joseph Culp. Culp would do his best to get us back in the game. We drew within 6 late in the 4th quarter after being down by as many as 21.

The story of the game had to be Utah HB Brown. This guy has to be related to Barry Sanders. He finished with 168 rushing yards and 93 receiving yards. It was frustrating to watch him break tackle after tackle. I dont know how many times my talented defense had him for a stop only to watch him get another first down.

This was another ugly game by the young Oklahoma offense. Once again the Sooners QB threw 4 interceptions, two of them were returned for touchdowns. It does not seem to matter who the QB is. The offense has 0 seniors and the lack of leadership shows. HB Houston struggled, running 23 times for 75 yards but did manage 2 TD's. The lone bright spot on offense was WR Haas who had 7 catches for 144 yards and a TD.

The Defense saved the day forcing 3 turnovers. Senior SS Kevin Brent earned player of the game honors with 9 tackles 1 INT and 1 FR.

Oklahoma cannot seem to get anything going on offense. The passing game has struggled. We relied heavily on Junior HB Stephen Houston who carried the ball 29 times for 162 yards and TD.

The defense made a couple of huge plays that save the game for the Sooners. CB Gabe Lynn had a nice pick in the end zone right before half-time. Late in the game K-State was driving down for the tie or win, on 4th down Junior DE Shelton Watson came up huge with his 2nd sack of the day, saving the game for the Sooners.

Next up a huge game against Texas. The offense better be ready to hit the practice fields this week.

Oklahoma finally put together a complete game. The Sooners played their first game without turning the ball over. Turnovers had killed us in a couple of games. QB Culp would settle down and not force any throws. He finished with 2 TD's. We used a mixed assault in the first half while building a 28-6 lead. After the half Oklahoma would just grind out the ball. The ground game finished with 33 carries for 176 yards and 4 TD's. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and not just a lucky game against Kansas.

On a recruiting note, the Sooners signed two players this week. First was 3 Star MLB Ryan West. The other was 5 star WR A.J. Brooks. We are excited about this signing. Hopefully he will provide a spark to our passing game. We also got a soft comit from 5 star wideout Andy Marks. Hopefully we will be able to announce his signing next week.

Oklahoma survives again. We jumped out to an early 17-0 lead, on the back of Herbert Howler 2 short TD runs. Late in the second half we thought we had held TAMU to a FG, but they faked and got a TD to make the score 17-7. TAMU got the ball at half and proceeded to drive down for a quick TD to cut the score to 17-14.

A&M played tough D in the second half. They got within 6 at 27-21. They had the ball with under 2 minutes to go and drove the ball down inside the Oklahoma 10. I figured we had managed to give this game away. The Sooners defense decided that they had seen enough. TAMU QB Slaughter thought he had a TD on a slant pass, but LB Rondell Lewis managed to pick it off sealing the win for the 9th ranked Sooners.

The game started with Oklahoma receiving the ball. The drove down the field and then did what has happened way too many times this year, we threw a pick in the redzone. And then the defense did what the have done all year and that was bail out the offense. One the first Texas Tech snap we got a sack on Doege for a saftey. The rest of the game it was Oklahoma's ground attack vs Texas Tech air attack.

It was close the entire game with each matching TD drives. Late in the 3rd quarter Oklahoma had a 2 point lead, when Culp threw his second pick of the day. At this point I was very worried. We had held the lead the entire time, but we also were having problems containing the air attack. But the defense stepped up again and intercepted Doege for the second time. This time Oklahoma just ground the ball out, taking approximatley 4 mintues off the clock. The drive ended with a 4 yard Herbert Fowler TD run and only 58 seconds left on the clock.

This would be our 6th win in a row after a slow start. We have one game left and that is against FSU after a bye week.

Ugly, Ugly game for the Sooners. Before I knew it the score was 26-0 and All-World HB Trent Richardson had 3 TD and 180 yards. That was when the whistle blew to end the first quarter. I never had a chance to recover. The WR's could not get any separation. Our OLine allowed 4 sacks and a butt load of pressure. The QB's combined for 4 picks. We never got a chance to establish any kind of a running game.
