    Jeff Person Walk On

The Philadelphia Phillies ended the 2012 season with one of their worst records in some time. The team that was a strong favorite to make a run at the postseason fell short due to injuries, age, and poor management of the team.

The Owner of the Phillies thought it was a good time for a change and fired the GM, and took a huge chance in hiring Jeff Person as the new GM. Not more than a week after placing his nameplate in front of his desk did he get right down to business by sending a shockwave throughout the entire MLB by posting Doc Halladay, Cliff Lee and Jimmy Rollins and J. Papelbon up for sale. In return, he received numerous draft picks, a handful of quality prospects and to top it off, a lot extra money floating around for future Free Agents and Extensions.

The 2013 Philadelphia Phillies were slated to finish in Last Place in the NL East this year which was not that surprising after trading away 2 of the best Pitchers in the game. They find themselves currently sitting atop of the division at the moment but with the season just getting underway, only time will tell if this team can compete down the stretch.
