Florida is making a play at #1 TE Ben Jackson. I think I'm good though. I'm sitting at 90% interesting while Florida is down at 46% interest. I've got my visit set up for next week against TCU with the conference title on the line. If I win I don't see how I could loose him. Even if I loose I don't see how Florida can make up that much ground this late in the season. Screw you Gators!

San Diego State tops UNLV 42 - 17. Despite continued passing woes for Bernards after strong results early season the running game made up the slack. Ronnie Hillman, now 100% healthy for the first time since he went down in week 3, rushed for a staggering 226 yards on 26 carries and scored 3 times. As a team the Aztecs put up 291 yards on the ground and added another 282 through the air for over 550 yards of total offense. UNLV did manage to pick off Bernards twice during the game but then coughed up the ball three times to the Aztecs and just couldn't keep pace with the high octane Aztecs offense.

After the game we asked coach Osiris Monster about the shift away from the pass and to the run. He had this to say. "We have always been a team able to line up in shotgun as well as under center. With Hillman back in the lineup and Bernards struggling to keep possession of the ball it seemed the smart move to make. I'd love to see Bernards sling the ball all over the field but his accuracy leaves something to be desired. Still, he offers our best chance to win and you can bet he will be the starter when we host TCU for the Mountain West championship next week. That is a huge game for us and a must win both for the title and for recruiting. UNLV played a great game in this hated rivalry but our team stood strong."

Hopefully coach Osiris Monster can find his passing groove again before facing a highly rated TCU squad next week.

    Nevada - 21
    San Jose State - 30

The Spartans beat the Wolfpack for the first time in coach Rec Chem's tenure, setting up next weeks game with rival Fresno State for the WAC title. Early it was all Spartans, as they built a 30-0 lead late into the 3rd quarter. Feeling comfortable with the lead, coach Chem pulled the starters and thats when things got interesting. My second team is terrible. They let Nevada score 21 unanswered points before failing to convert an onside kick with just under a minute left in the 4th quarter down 9. San Jose improves to 6-5 winning its 6th straight game all in conference. Next week, for all the WAC marbles, San Jose travels south to Fresno to take on the Bulldogs.

    Tulane 38
    SMU 10

Tulane traveled to Dallas and knocked off the Mustangs for their tenth win of the season. QB Eliot Gaines threw for over 400 yards, of which WR Mark Ervin caught over 200. The Green Wave won double digit games during the regular season for the first time since 1998. They now await a bowl invite, possibly to the Beef O'Brady Bowl.

    WSU 3
    UW 24

YES, IT WAS UNBELIEVABLY BAD! WSU started the game really well, going down the field scoring a field goal. UW quickly responded with a touchdown to take a 7-3 lead. The score would remain 7-3 for the remaining portion of the first half because of exceptionally play of both defenses, or in WSU's case QB Connor Halliday got injured and was knocked of the game. In came Tana Pritchard, who flat out sucks. As the game started the fourth quarter with the score 17-3, Coach Worgum seriously considered pulling the redshirt on true freshman Derek Weeks, but thought better of it. Which was probably a good thing because Pritchard was knocked out of the game, meaning, WRs got to play quarterback, at that point the game was over. For the game UW sacked WSU QBs l10 times.
