you should have seen this coming after our bowl game last year ;)

Also, I had a transfer failed error late last night (i blame recchem2000 because he is jealous of the success of MTSU compared to SJSU), so I will be replaying my game later on this evening.

I think I'm gonna like you here haha

Despite Bernards attempt to foil an Aztec Mountain West Championship with his three INTs, San Diego State prevails to win their first conference title 34-21.

The game started out all Aztecs with a huge defense three and out for the Horned Frogs followed by a methodical Aztec drive that ended when Bernards threw the first of his three picks at the TCU 3 yard line. Luckily the Aztecs answered as Bernards came out slinging the ball as only Jay Cutler can down the field and for the tieing score. After that the Aztecs jumped on a fumble during the ensuing kickoff and took the 14-7 lead, a lead they wouldn't relinquish. San Diego State scored again to take the lead up to 21-7 behind some strong running by Hillman and Bernards second TD pass of the night. TCU wouldn't be denied though and scored to narrow the gap to 7 just before the half. With only 40 seconds left on the clock coach Osiris Monster unleashed the agressive no huddle and saw wonderful results as the Aztecs scored in only four plays as Bernards himself ran it in on a QB Power to give the Aztecs a 14 point halftime lead.

Third quarters have never been Bernards strong suit and the two INTs he tossed during that quarter sure didn't break that trend. Despite that the Aztecs were able to grind out the clock as the duo of Hillman and Hardwick in the backfield ate away at the TCU 4-2-5 defense. TCU tried to make a game of it pulling within 10 points at one time but a 4th and long drop ended any hopes of a comeback.

During the game Ronnie Hillman eclipsed the 1000 yard rushing mark as he ran for 145 on 27 carries. Reaching 1000 yards is a milestone for a back that missed eight weeks of the season with an injury. Defensively the Aztecs managed three sacks and only gave up 268 total yards of offense despite being -3 in the turnover differential.

Coach Osiris Monster is very proud of his team and their accomplishments tonight. "I came into San Diego with one goal and one goal only, to win a conference title. Facing giants like TCU and Boise State I knew we had to be like david to their goliath programs. Slay them we did. I'm very proud of our team. This title is theirs to enjoy, a first for San Diego State. To beat a top ten team with the conference title on the line after starting a pedestrian 1-2 is an accomplish they can carry with them the rest of their lives. Tonight we sit atop the Mountain West!"

Coach Osiris Monster now has the Las Vegas bowl and a likely date with Washington to look forward to.

San Jose State goes into Fresno and takes home the victory and a WAC title, defeating the Bulldogs 38-24. The Spartans played the game they needed to, not turning the ball over and getting 2 takeaways, one a pick six in the first quarter. The Spartans controlled the ball almost twice as much as Fresno despite allowing 228 yards on the ground to the Bulldogs. The Spartans end their 2013 season on a 7 game win streak and wait to see what Bowl they get to play in this year.

    San Jose State Stats
    QB Maines 12/19 179 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
HB Wood 19 Carries, 99 Yards
HB Wiiliams 9 Carries, 72 Yards, 1 TD
WR Nunn 4 Catches, 93 Yards, 1 TD
OLB Smith 13 Tackles, 7 Solo, 3 TFL, 1 FFUMB
