    USC - 10
    UCLA - 21

UCLA clinches the Pac 10 title and trip to the Rose Bowl, taking down the hated Trojans at the Rose Bowl. At one point my freshman QB, who has played so well in the 2 user games prior to this one, was 0-7 with 2 INTS. He was pulled in the 2nd quarter for a now healthy senior QB Landers who lead the way for the Bruins.

Just have to mention that the USC kicked made a 65 yard FG!

    holy hell.... 65 yards?

so, the ball was snapped from your 48 yard line?

    that's just ridiculous.

Yeah I think we need to adjust the sliders for the kickers.... Most college teams wont even attempt a 50yrd FG let alone a 65... [IMG]

Via a quick Google search I found this:

    In Division I-A
there is a tie for the longest field goal....67 yards
    ...between...
Russell Erxleben 10/1/77 in a game between Texas and Rice
Steve Little 10/15/77 in a game between Arkansas and Texas ..and...
Joe Williams 10/21/78 in a game between Witchita State and Southern Illinois....
(the seventies seem to have been a good decade for kickers..was it the bell-bottom pants??)
    other FG records include:
Martin Gramatica for 65 yds..the longest without a tee
and 61 yards for the longest NCAA kick by a true Freshman

If the kicker has the leg... They should try. I havent had any other cpu team try that, so i think we're ok with sliders. I think ours should be harder accuacy honestly. Length is good though. I can't get a 40 yarder to the crossbar!

No, I don't think we need to touch the sliders. If the guy can kick it 60+ they can try it. Especially when there are lot of kickers that suck as you progress on a dynasty. My question is why recchem thought the cpu was going to fake it, the cpu isn't going to fake a 65 yard field goal try. It may fake the punt, but if it is sending out the kicking unit from that distance I am expecting them to kick it.

For the most part, the kickers suck and miss extra points so im not to worried about this. I think USC kicker is just good and the CPU knew he had the leg.

Just checked. Their P (who is prob the place kicker for usc since he has a higher overall rating) has a kick power of 99. Pretty sure he has the leg for 65 yards and the cpu knows it. Other than that, most other kickers suck and miss extra points if you get pressure on them, so the sliders see good.

The Beavers made a big comeback in this only to fall short, as QB Bryan Bennett led the Ducks down field for a last second field goal for the win. Bennett finished the game with 307 yards passing and 2 tds. WR Diante Jackson led the way with 7 catches for 115 and a score. The Beavers mounted a furious 4th quarter comeback. Down 24-10 with the Ducks threatening to add a field goal to make the lead insurmountable, Bennett inexcusably threw a pick which set up a 7 yard td pass from Beaver QB Sean Mannion. The Ducks then missed a 58 yard field goal to give the ball back to the Beavers with about 3 minutes left. OSU methodically moved the ball in scoring range and finally did go ahead on a 9 yard pass by Mannion. The Beavers then made a controversial decision to go for 2 and the win. After some confusion by the Ducks coaching staff, the Beavers converted the 2 pointer to take a 25-24 lead. The Ducks completed a deep out to Jackson, who managed to get out of bounds. Bennett was flushed out of the pocket and scrambled for a big gain, moving the ball across the fifty. He then hustled his team to the line and completed a deep ball over the middle to TE Curtis White. Again hustling to the line, Bennett hit White again to get the ball inside the 2 yardline. Oregon used a timeout and OSU followed with another to ice the Duck kicker. Senior Jackson Rice has ice water in his veins and drilled the game winner.

Good game wazzu. Sorry for the confusion on the 2 pointer.

good game Dakota. You had the game totally under control until that interception, lesson of the day if you are up by 14 don't throw it unless it is absolutely necessary in 4th quarter when you are in field goal range. As for the 2 point conversion, I probably shouldn't have told you then the whole issue would have been avoided. Then I can't believe you tried to pass the ball with 8 seconds remaining, you almost ran out of time, and then the ending really would have been ashame. Additionally, I hate this fucking game, I have yet to have a kicker who can kick a 50 yard field goal. In one dynasty my kickers have been lucky to make 30 yard field goals. Then I play USC and UO, and apparently they have guys that can boom it from 60 yards. I don't even want to tell you about what happened in my other user game last night, the guy tried a 58 yarder against 14 mph winds, and almost made it, I think it missed the cross bar. Again, I hate the kicking on this game.

go for kick power. Kicker star values are worthless, I have see 3 star kicker with A+ kick power. Don't settle for less than a B+.

Yeah, I actually came out with a running play and then audibled to the pass........and threw a pick. Yeah, right after that play with 8 seconds......I couldn't believe I did that either. I lose my mind in the end of these games.....

Anyway, good game. I was really lucky that Oregon had 2 good, young kickers on the default roster. Next year, I get to use the stiffs I've recruited the last 2 years.
