You know I'm in for whatever. It doesn't matter what difficulty we play, I'm going to still have fun. One thing to think about...no matter the difficulty, it is likely that the same percentage difference gap between the really good players and the average player will still be the same. Instead of the leaders shooting -60 and the average player shooting -30, it might be -30 for the leader and -15 for the average. Lower scores, yes, but gap is likely to be the same. Take that how you will.
Hey Vlad, I am cool with whatever courses you use this year. I am pumped for this season for sure and I see a lot of guys will be involved in this season and a lot of new guys I think will join. Just to let you know Vlad I am now on the XBOX 360 side of things now. My PS3 took a dump and I was livid. So I bought a XBOX360 and I am excited about this year. If you need help with anything please let me know. I know a lot of guys were disappointed about the FedEx Cup and who actually won it at the end of the year. By the way does anyone know who won that anyway? I am getting the Masters Edition for sure I got a giftcard from my mother in law for Christmas from Gamestop so I am saving that bad boy until the game comes out. I also like the whole idea of inviting country clubs to play on the Tour that made it a lot of fun and hope that happens this year too.
I agree. Keeping the game fun and challenging is the most important. The handicap system does both of these things. I would also like to see league play in the fall and winter.
I plan on golfing this season. Please add me. I like it difficult to play not impossible.. Most of the suggestions made are great.
How do you like the idea of playing our Tradition CC FedEx Cup finale in 16 player matchplay format (with the first 36 holes played by 32 players in regular stroke play to qualify and determine the seedings for the bracket) ? They discussed it on Golf Channel the other day and I really like the idea. Here is the link to the video. http://www.golfchannel.com/media/morning-drive-web-hit-wednesday-022013/
cant wait for tw 14 to come out, tho the demo loooks alot like last yr's version to me. we shall see tho
I'm down with whatever you guys decide. Like I said in another thread, I wouldn't mind seeing a longer season, but that's totally up to you guys. On a side note, Simulation difficulty on the demo is ridiculously tough! I like it. Very challenging, and will take lots of practice on getting the swings down. I've been playing all day and I've yet to score a single birdie at either Oak Hill or Birkdale. It's so sensitive on the draw/fade swing planes lol. The leading score is -2 for the 3 hole Sim tournament at Oak Hill on 360.
Sorry; I've been MIA. Golf season is in the air!! It's a new season! Count me in! The harder the better. The tournament and sim required diagonal swings should make things interesting.
Might still be too early to tell.. the demo only lets you play 3 holes. 3 at Oak Hill, and 3 at Royal Birkdale. But you can play all of the difficulties, and even do a preview of the PGA Championship (again 3 holes at Oak Hill). I would say that TW14 is at least equal to '13 so far.. it's definitely not any worse. The draws/fades are a bit challenging this year. It's very precise and it doesn't take much to shank one in the woods. And in Tournament and Simulation modes, the only time your hitting a straight shot is if you're around the green. Also, in tournament mode, they have the green grids on, but no beads running through it.. I actually like that.. looks pretty good. In Simulation, the grid is turned off completely. That's also fun to play. Been playing it for almost 2 days now and I've yet to post a round under par at either course in Simulation lol. One bad shot can derail your entire round this year. Night golf is a neat little twist too. The live tournaments use live weather this year, even if it's dark.. and boy does it get dark. But, like last year, it's just going to take a bit of time and practice and get that "feel" back in your swing. All I know is, I'm looking forward to it. I'm a EA Season Ticket holder, so 2 weeks from today I'll be playing it.
From what I played, I like it a lot! Very, very tough to hit the EXACT shot that you want. I really see this version being the one that puts the whole "risk vs. reward" option in your mind. Simply put, I just went and pre-ordered my copy of the Historic Edition at Gamestop yesterday, so I'm all in!!!
Question -- how much XP transfers from 13 to 14? I'm caught right now between wanting to play the demo or go back and play 13 and get as much possible XP as I can to transfer......
Couple quick notes, played a little more on my lunch break. I DO NOT like being forced to hit a draw or fade when you have the advanced swing setting on. Sometimes it is utterly unnecessary and reminds me of that one I thought I'd never name again....."The Caddie". But so far it feels like TW13 tweaked here and there.....and like I said, I thought 13 was one of the best, if not the best TW to date.....
I am with you there... I have not hit a fairway on simulation mode due to having to swing diagonally.. HAve played like ten rounds and I think my best score was +2.. Not good..
