    Ducks Can't Deal In Snow
    [IMG][IMG]

The annual Civil War capped off the 2013 regular season for the Ducks & Beavers at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The flashy Ducks came out in the snow and jumped on top of Oregon State 17-0 before Coach Eidson could even blink. A big equipment manager failure resulted in the Beavers wearing all white in the snow & starting QB Cody Vaz tossed an interception on the Beavers first drive (not sure why the dynasty wire doesn't show an INT, might be because the CB stepped out of bounds on the TD return and it was reviewed & overturned). Oregon started things out with a long drive with 4-5 3rd down conversions and an eventual 0 yard touchdown pass from 300 pound QB Jeff Lockie to WR BJ Kelly. After the Vaz interception a few plays later Lockie ran his big ass straight through the Beaver defense and into the endzone to lead 14-0. As the Beavers offense still struggled to get a spark the Ducks made it look easy on offense again but this time only snagged a field goal to lead 17-0 after the first quarter. I remember a stat line popping up that total yardage was 127 to 7.

The spark that Oregon State was looking for started with the usual playmaker Brandin Cooks. Cooks took the ensuing kickoff from Oregon back 94 yards to put Oregon State on the board. The touchdown got the defense pumped up who came out and punched Oregon in the mouth finally & forced a quick 3 and out. The Beavers moved quick with new starting RB Terron Ward busting off big runs and Cody Vaz hitting his throws all over the place. The Beavers got in the endzone on this drive when Vaz found Cooks up the sideline for the 21 yard touchdown and trailed 17-14 early in the 2nd quarter. The Beavers defense held again on Oregon's next possession and it was time for Sean Mannion to go to work at QB. Mannion needed 1 touchdown the Oregon State single season TD passes record. He made quick work of the Duck defense and it was WR Brandin Cooks putting the team on his back again and got between the zone defense of Oregon and hauled in another touchdown reception to give Oregon State the lead 21-17. Oregon answered right back rather quick after Jeff Lockie kept a read option and shook the ground running up the sideline before being tackled deep in Beaver territory. A few runs later RB Byron Marshall put Oregon back on top with a 4 yard touchdown run. A little over a minute remained before half and Oregon State connected on 4 straight big pass plays to snag a FG as time expired and knot things up at 24 before the break.

The 2nd half looked much like the 2nd quarter. The Beavers figured out the Duck's offense and began to get stops while the offense continued to look unstoppable. Oregon State took the 2nd half kickoff and marched past midfield with the legs of Terron Ward but the end result was only a field goal. As Oregon failed to convert a 4th down fake punt, the Beavers took over the next drive with great field position and it was the normal Cooks/Mannion touchdown hook up in the endzone to give Oregon State a 34-24 lead midway through the 3rd. Later in the 3rd, Oregon State hit on a beautiful 20 yard touchdown from Mannion to WR Richard Mullaney off play action to extend the lead 41-24. The Ducks started the 4th with the ball and had a drive similar to there opening game drive with over 10 plays & several 3rd down conversions and punched it into the endzone with QB Jeff Lockie again on the QB keeper run and trailed 41-31 midway through the 4th. The Beavers answered back quick though. Brandin Cooks returned the kickoff past midfield & on the first play of the drive RB Terron Ward took a stretch play to the left sideline and up the field he went for the 40 yard touchdown run. Oregon State added another Terron Ward 20 yard touchdown run near the end of the game to seal the deal on the rival Duckies 55-31.

My girlfriend comes back Saturday after being out of town 2 weeks. 99% sure I can't pull that off Sat. night. Also I think Zac leaves tomorrow & won't be back til Monday.

That also puts a 12 hour window on conference championships. then a 24 hour advance on bowls , then you would have to do the archive somehow before we do off-season.

Whatever happened to doing these on mornings? lol

bawvu97 You want to play tonight after 10pm advance? Or is that too late? Tomorrow night I won't get home until late, grilling out with friends and not sure when I'll get home.

Sunday morning is no good for me, but could do anything after 1 in the afternoon probably. Offseason doesn't really take any time this year right? Also thought you could do it all from the wire, if that's the case I should be ok.
