Miami rolled over #19 Akron en route to another victory for the Hurricanes. Heisman candidate AJ Highsmith was the leader for the offense once again. He threw for three touchdowns in the game and ran for two short scores. His lone mistake was an interception on a forced pass. AJ's leading receiver for this game was Jason Miller, catching 9 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. Kent and Reid also caught touchdowns in this game.

On defense Miami played one of its better games of the season. The Hurricanes only allowed 134 yards and 100 of those yards came on the TD drive by Akron. The Zips started at their own 1/2 yard line after an unbelievable punt by Hester. The Canes could not take advantage of the field position and Akron got the ball out of its endzone. The Zips then drove the length of the field for the touchdown. Aside from that the entire Miami defense played top notch football. The team combined for 18 tackles for a loss in this game, led by senior defensive end Dyron Dye who had 5. 3 of those 5 were credited as sacks, giving him a team high 16 on the season. Senior linebacker Clint Morgan grabbed an interception for Miami. Akron's wide receivers did not help their quarterback in this match, they dropped 8 passes in the game.

Miami players get to rest up the next few weeks. Miami has a bye in week 15 and they will not be participating in conference championship. Their next game will be a bowl game and the team should be looking at an at-large BCS berth. Miami only lost twice this season and both teams are in the top 4 in the country.

    Miami 45
    Akron 7

The Seminole running game was working on all cylinders in this contest and the defense was stout, holding Oklahoma to 131 total yards. The Noles needed the victory to become bowl eligible.

DOEGE GOES OUT PROVING HE COULD PLAY

The big fear was the d-line; rightfully so. Doege was sacked 6 times, but was 21 of 34 for 342 yards and 3 TD's, with 1 pick passing. The senior QB threw 2 TD's and ran for another in the fourth quarter, to almost bring his team back. QB Seth Doege of the Red Raiders, after a much maligned career at Tech, can go out holding his head high, after a career day at Michigan.

WR Roger Russell also had a huge day, catching 6 passes for 173 yards and 2 TD's.

    Details in the summary.

You always hate to lose, and therefore miss a bowl game, but losing to Michigan on the road was not near as bad as last years, bowl killing loss to Oklahoma St at home.

    Wreck-em Tech!

Congrats on the win and thanks for bumping me up in the BCS standings :). One less team I have to worry about for an at-large bid.

    USC - 21
    UCLA - 17

Had a few shots at the end zone at the end of the game but couldnt make it happen. Got picked on the last play of the game. It was a classic and im darn proud of the way my team played. Great game Hova...good luck in the NC!

Recchem played great, his team is vastly improved from the earlier years, I thought he had me beat. SS Golden made the huge pick to seal the win. GG

Ugh, Oklahoma's offense hit bottom this game. FSU dominated on both sides of the ball, controlling the time of possession. Next years incoming class is mostly offense. I hope they are ready to step right in and contribute because we are losing a lot of talent on defense.

The Ducks cap off a tough season with a win in the Civil War. Brian Perkins scored three touchdowns and rushed for 106 yards. The defense forced two turnovers with three players recording two sacks each. Oregon will now look to finish the year with one more win in its bowl game before looking to next season.
