    2013 - Week 2 - TWIT

Its good to see a new season where everybody is on the ball. As quick as the ink could dry on TWIT week 1 was over. Clemson fans are already looking forward to the Parham era. But they have work to do this week in a Big user vs user game.

    Big User vs User Games

    #4 Clemson (1-0) @ #2 Alabama (1-0)

Clemson hit the ground running logging 178 between its two top backs in a win over Army 49-20. The tune up game also let Tiger fans get their first look at new starting QB Cole Jones. Jones billed as an ultra accurate pocket passer went 20-28 for 266 yards and 1 TD and 2 INT. Nobody is calling for a Heisman trophy yet but a decent effort in his first start. The Tigers will travel to Tuscaloosa and will need the defense to stiffen up a little bit they gave up 181 yards on the ground to Army. Alabama opened the season against a pesky top 25 Nebraska. Bama was able to move the ball consistently piling up 231 yards on the ground (shared by 3 different backs). Alabama's first time starter Aaron McCarron was guilty of forcing the ball a few times but overall had a good day going 22-26 for 313 yards with 2 Td's 2 INT's. The Tide have some major concerns with taking care of the ball 3 turnovers is something Tide fans aren't use to seeing. HB Trent Richardson was injured and left the game after 14 carries another concern. Bigger than turnover and injuries is the defense. Where was it? They gave up 515 total yards 402 in the Air. One of these defenses will step up and and walk away the winner. At home Alabama has a slight advantage over Clemson as these teams clash for the first time in the Tradition.

    Other National Games

    NC State (0-0) @ #8 Georgia Tech (1-0)

Georgia Tech looking stellar in their opener winning 69-7 against #24 Cincinnati. Tech unleashed the ground game for 331 yards and look focused after finishing 1 win short of the National Title game last year.

    #5 Penn State (0-0) @ #15 Miami (1-0)

Big winners in week 1 69-14 over Utah Miami will be tested by a tough Penn State defense. QB Adam Francis started his sophomore campaign with a bang throwing for over 400 yards and 4 TD's.

    #12 LSU (1-0) @ #20 Iowa (0-0)

LSU took Colorado to woodsheed 66-34 last week but will take to the road vs Iowa this week. HB Eric Ferwerda turned heads in week 1 with 28 carries 212 yards and 4 TD's.

    #10 Virginia Tech (0-0) @ #3 Michigan (0-0)

No Ju Ju, but Thomas is still an option at TE. Antone Exum will be tested early in the Big House. Look for the defense to make a statement against Michigan on the road.

    #9 Florida (1-0) @ Texas Tech (0-0)

Fans in Florida are talking about rebuilding. Week 1 the Gators defense looked to be in rebuilding mode giving up 561 total yards 472 in the air. The 58-39 win over Toledo didn't answer many questions this week will.

Bama wins...that defense is too stout...plus Clemson will be feeling it with Jones at QB...total difference from what they are use to.

Yeah you're probably spot on. Not even close to being comfortable with the pocket passer, plus Im learning a new playbook. We'll try to keep it close and see if we can make a play late.
