Hokies take early lead, but end up falling to GT 38-24
VT traveled to GT this week and showed a brand new wrinkle in their offense, benching run-oriented QB Ricardo Young and starting RS FR passer Eric Clemons. Clemons played well in his first start, throwing for 289 yards for a TD and only one INT. However, he will need to work on his completion percentage if the Hokies are going to do well this season, as he only completed 48% of his passes. Young, who was used in certain sets, scored two 2 TDs off of goal line option plays.
Coach RyanC said that he will continue to use a 2 QB system, "Young is just too athletically gifted to keep off of the field, so we are trying to find ways to keep him involved in the offense, we just feel that Clemons offers us a better pocket passer and makes the passing game more of a threat."
The Hokies will look to rebound next week as they travel to Tallahassee to face Florida State.
Temple Takes Indiana to the Woodshed
Just as the title states - the Owls took the Hoosiers to the woodshed last night at Lincoln Financial Field. Chris Coyer and stud RB Myron Myles ran and threw all over Indiana en-route to scoring 42 points. Myles had a career-high 204 rushing yards and 1 td, while Coyer threw for 240 yds and 3 tds. Next up for TU is the MAC opener against Ball State.
