Navy: Good at producing naval officers, bad at football

This was a game that Navy was in for a little while, as they kept the score at 14-7 and 21-14 at points early in the 2nd quarter. Their triple option attack gave the usually stout Maryland run D a lot of trouble, as it gashed them for big play after big play early in the game. But after a Deon Long 72 yard TD and a Stefon Diggs kick return TD, the rout was on, as Maryland scored the last 49 points in this game to win it 70-14. Once Navy went behind by a few TDs, they decided to come out and start throwing the football, and it proved disastrous. 6 Navy turnovers gave Maryland great field position over and over again, and it was tough for Maryland to not score more than 70. In fact, the Terps had to simply just step out of bounds at the 1 yard line to prevent scoring a TD a few times and then just take a few knees and give the ball back to Navy.

Iowa takes down #1 Buckeyes on the road 38-34
Iowa rocketed up the polls this week jumping from #20 to #9 and the Hawkeyes took there new top ten ranking into the vaunted Horse Shoe in Columbus to take on the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes. Both coaches knew this was a huge game for both sides as this was a potential preview of the B1G Championship game.

Iowa won the toss and elected to receive as usual and the offense went to work but the Ohio State defense shut them down and forced the Hawkeyes to punt. Out came Heisman candidate Braxton Miller but his time on the field was short lived as he would throw his 1st of 3 interceptions on the day and gave the Hawkeyes great field position to start there next drive. Iowa capitalized on the great field position and Jake Rudock connected with Kevonte Martin Manley for a 4 yard touchdown 7-0 Iowa. Iowa's defense would again pick off Miller on there next drive and the Hawkeye offense again capitalized on the turnover and Rudock hit one of his favorite targets tight end CJ Fiedorowicz 14-0 end of the first.

It was a completely different game in the 2nd quarter as the first play of the 2nd quarter was a 49 yard touchdown to Corey Brown from Braxton Miller to make it 14-7. Iowa would tack on a field goal on there next drive and then the steam rolling began. Ohio State would score with 2:22 left in the half on a 8 yard run by Jordan Hall 17-14. Jake Rudock then went full retard and threw a pick and Ohio State would score on another Jordan Hall run this time from 7 yards out with 0:41 seconds to go. Iowa's offense was able to start with great field position as Jordan Canzeri returned the kick out to the 40 but Rudock would once again think he had a man open but the super human that is Doran Grant would pick the pass off break 4 tackles bounce off 3 Iowa lineman and then return the ball 99 yards for a pick 6 to make it 28-17 at the break.

Ohio State would start with the ball to open the second half and were looking to keep the momentum rolling but the Iowa defense was able to hold just enough to force a field goal 31-17. On the ensuing kick off Jordan Canzeri returned the kick 98 yards for the touchdown and the momentum swung greatly 31-24. Braxton Miller would throw his 3rd pick of the game on the next drive and the Hawkeye offense went to work and punched it in the endzone as Rudock found Jacob Hillyer for a 6 yard touchdown 31-31 heading to the 4th.

Ohio State struggled to start the third and were forced to punt. Iowa's offense once again went back to work with the very balanced attack and finally the Ohio State defense showed fatigue as the chunk yards on runs was getting bigger and bigger. Then on 3rd down from the 11 yard line Jake Rudock looked right guys covered...looked left receivers swarmed so he looked middle and there was no one in sight so the not so mobile quarterback took off and scooted 11 yards for the touchdown and the coaching staff was going wild 38-31 Hawkeyes with 6:31 left in the game. The Buckeye offense settled down but once again got into Iowa territory but wasn't able to convert but settled for another field goal 38-34. That was the last time the Ohio State offense saw the ball as the Hawkeye offense would get first down after first down and ran out the last 4 minutes of the game to secure the victory.

Well... I've got no pictures from this one because my game froze uploading highlights. Regardless.. this was a horrible, horrible and sloppy offensive performance by both teams. 5 Total sacks, 11 combined interceptions, 440 yards of COMBINED offense. It was just an ugly game in the snow. The only highlight would have been HB Nick Hill who was easily the best player on the field. He began to slow down in the second half but led all backs with 88 yards on 25 carries. This was a very forgettable game as Purdue was lucky to escape with a 13-10 win.

Really sorry about the shitty recap @BDSDIGITAL but... there was like... zero exciting. All of my highlights that didnt upload were INT. So.. yeah.. GG anyhow, and see you next year possibly.

    Husky Stadium
Arizona State came into this game on a hot streak with huge wins over Stanford and USC. Coach Maverickfp is working some voodoo down there in Tempe. On the other side Washington has struggled defensively and it has caused them some big losses against USC and Oregon. The Huskies had high hopes for this season but right now the focus is just on getting bowl eligible. Most experts had the Sun Devils rolling the Washington defense with them ranking number one overall in offense with over 500 yards of offense per game. This seemed to be the case as the offense yards total at the half was 264 yards for ASU and only 31 for UW.

Arizona State got off to an early lead on a 49 yard option keeper touchdown run by Michael Eubank. Then the Sun Devils defense forced a three and out. Coach Maverickfp was looking to go up by two scores and called a deep pass play. Luckily sophomore sensation Shaq "The Little Aristotle" Thompson was there for the pick. He returned it to the ASU 32 yard line. Once again no first down for the Huskies, so they had to settle on a 40 yard field goal by Coons. The Sun Devils would go up once again by seven when Alex Garoutte connected on a field goal.

More dominance in the second quarter from ASU as they scored again. This time it was a six yard reception by their number one WR Ozier. The defense still shut down Washington who would only have one first down in the half. Garoutte would connect on a 27 yard field goal to make it 20-3 at the half.

The third quarter would see the Huskey offense take off on the legs of Bishop Sankey. After only having 11 yards rushing on 10 carries against Oregon last week and not fairing any better in the first half of this game, he told coach johnnyclutch that he was going to carry the load for the team in the second half. Sankey would cut the lead to 10 on a 22 yard run. Garoutte would attempt a 44 yard field goal only to have it curve to the right before it could get past the right upright. Washington would take over, but on the first play a bad pitch from Keith Price was recovered by ASU. Taking a page from the Sun Devils playbook, the Husky defense would get their first three and out of the game. Later in the third, Sankey would make a nasty stop juke to get two Sun Devils defenders to miss and then he would out run the rest on the way to a 68 yard score.

Garoutte would make up for his miss and nail a 42 yarder to give ASU a six point lead early in the fourth. A slow, methodical drive would give the Huskies the lead when Callier ran it in from two yards out. Looking to connect on a streak, Eubank would slightly under throw the ball and Peters was there to pick the pass off with 1:40 left in the game. The Sun Devils would force and three and out and used their time outs to get the ball back with 1:21 left. Starting at their own 35 yard line, all they need to was to get in field goal range for the win. Arizona State WR Smith was able to get some seperation on an out route on third down but he would drop the pass. Facing a fourth and ten, Eubanks would drop back and let the pass rip. The only problem was that there was a Washington defender in the area. The result was a deflection. A run and two kneels was all that was needed for the Huskies to secure the upset 24-23.

WR Richard Mullaney hauls in the game winning TD with 18 seconds remaining

Not going to write a ton & let the video do the explaining. Probably the Game Of The Year as far as excitement. It didn't hold a lot of meaning on a national stage or anything but as far as back & forth and stepping on your dick when either one of us could stretch out a lead, it definitely was epic. It's a long video, about 10-11 minutes but I wanted you guys to get more then just big plays & 3rd down's. @sonn crazy ass game
