Overall a descent draft for Green Bay considering we only had 1 first round pick, which was aquired via 11th hour trade with Seattle. They all played well in the 1st pre-season game . Looking for Dyles to progress and move into that starting role next season should Matthews try that BS again, no franchising....Also, CT is high on the young Wideout Derrick Brown, a steal in the 6th round, is on the cusp of moving into the third receiver slot, Cobb has been inconsistent and injury prone, he may be demoted to return duties exclusively.

Lions make bold moves in the Draft
After last year's abysmal draft, where only 2 players made the final cut and neither were starters, the Lion's general manager swore to step it up this year. No more sprinkling scout points here and there. Concentrate on needs and find the best player, or the Ford's will find someone who can.
    1st Round Pick 28th overall
    MLB.jpg
80 speed 89 hit power 92 acc and 84 block shed
This stud will have a long future with the Lions. The Lions typically have 4 MLB's on their roster, but lost all but Stephen Tulloch (91 OVR) to free agency. Their hated (but respected) rivals, the Green Bay Packers, snatched up Dyles who was #1 on the Lion's draft board. Blessing in disguise? We'll see.
    2nd round pick 56th overall
    LG.jpg

86 run block 92 impact block 97 strength
Dare I say future hall of fame lineman? Probably pushing it, but easily the best lineman in the draft. With Sims coming into the final year of his contract, along with four other big name players, the possibility the Lions would not be able to resign him loomed ever present. The Lion's scoured the combine and scrutinized every possible candidate. Depriest was a no-brainer.
    3rd round pick 84th overall
    wr.jpg
    88 catch 78 release 99 speed 99 acc
The fasted player in the CCM. Will replace Young on PR and KR duty, and Nate Burlesson in the slot. This versatile speedster will definitely make waves this season. Look out cornerbacks!
***4th round pick 112th overall traded to Green Bay for retired HOF'er Charles Woodson.***
    5th round pick 140th overall
    De.jpg
    79 block shed 81 speed 91 acc
A young backup for speed rusher Micheal Johnson. A bit of a project, but with great depth at DE we'll see how he develops.
    6th round pick 168th overall
    qb.jpg
86 throwing power 79 short accuracy 82 medium accuracy 61 deep accuracy
I pray he never sees the field. Had to have a backup QB and it was him or the janitor's son at Ford field. Graham won out.
    7th round pick 196th overall
    cb.jpg
    80 man 74 catch 94 speed 95 acc
The Giant's general manager called the Lion's war room right after this pick to imply we were bugging his offices. He planned to pick up Minton with the very next pick and had to scramble to find someone else on his board when the Lion's snatched him up. Possibly trading this young stud, as I am already set at the DB position.
    Submit offers to Lion management.
Overall, my best draft ever. Last year's draft score (F). This year (A+).

I had Tanner Bailey rated high! Nice add!

    draft2014.jpg

Being selected in the second round was LT Travis Montana who was actually the #2 Tackle on the Ravens big board. Being the highest rated tackle left come late second round the Ravens got their man. Montana will look to replace the aging Bryan McKinny in the near future.

Next was the fiery LG Carl Gallego. Gallego was a story line player who showed attitude on the field, being ejected once and was voted ACC's dirties player. The Ravens staff know the can tame this kid and focus his aggression towards the opponents on the field. Carl will push current LG Jah Ried for playing time early this year.

Lastly RB Terrell Brown was taken to push for RB#2 snaps behind Ray Rice. Brown was the Ravens top rated RB after round 3. With 98 acceleration, solid speed and a mean spin move this kid will be the future when the miles start adding up on Mr. Rice.

    Seattle Rookie Class

The Seahawks traded their 25th pick to Green Bay and did not have a 1st rounder. Also of note, the Seattle coach/GM was not at the draft due to his old man soccer league. Ownership is said to be upset as the assistant pro personnel manager had to draft in his place. The biggest issue is that the assistant pro personnel manager got the needs and haves list mixed up. After training camp, 9 rookies made the 53. Of the 9, 4 were undrafted free agents. Of the 4 FAs, two of them are related.

    LE Bill Cross - 82 Overall - 2nd Round
    LT Baylee Gee - 77 Overall - 2nd Round
    HB Earl McGhee - 73 Overall - 3rd Round
    MLB - Luis James - 69 Overall - 6th Round
    ROLB - Ruben McCloud - 67 Overall - 7th Round

    FB - Nathanial Bissen - 66 - Free Agent
    TE - Ryan Galas - 63 - FA
    WR - Earnest Mateer - 63 - FA
    QB - Josh Galas - 61 - FA

First pick overall Terry Carter was a no-brainer his Elite arm instantly makes him a top QB right now. A++
Free-agent pickup Brayden Virgil is brought in as a return specialist. He has shown some flashes the he can be used on some long down pass packages. C-
Chandler Moody was drafted in the 6th round by the CPU and has a starting job, well done CPU. B-
    Defensive Rookies
    Screen Shot 2013-01-17 at 4.37.48 PM.png
Fabian Maynes was delegated as a 7th round pick, decent value for a miscue on the selection screen. C-
Keon Howard was taken earlier than expected, his strength and awareness was tops on Oakland's board as a DT that along with his intangible grade prompted the move on him in the 5th. The young man has a high ceiling he'll see some time eventually. D
Frederick Brooks was acquired via the free-agent draft, originally a 5th round pick, Brook has great cover skills he'll have to make his way up the depth chart first. D
Clinton "Tha Madbomber" Smith was drafted in the 2nd. Not a reach in my eyes, he has mid level awareness, above average play rec and his hit power is through the roof. As Huff ages, he'll be needed to fill the void immediately once Michael's contract builds value. C+
Phillip Patt stuck out like a sore thumb, his mighty kick power was all I needed to see and as the clock dwindled down I said fuck it. POW!!! It didn't take long before the aging Lechler was cut. B

DirtSouthDan looks that way, I traded into the 1st to get Dyles, too bad I have Bishop and Gary Brackett ahead of him on the depth chart, he wont progress....Looks like Bailey was homerun, Dyles maybe just a double or a triple..
