2014 Gator Preview After a successful season a year ago, 14-0 SEC Champions and National Champions, Florida looks for more of the same in 2014. UF lost team captains Jordan Reed and Jelani Jenkins. Also leaving was WR Andre Debose and DT Gerald Berry, whose absence leaves holes in the depth chart. On offense, the Gators are led by talented sophomore QB Joel Brown, who became the starter after an injury to Jordan Reed. As a Freshman he threw 25 TD only 2 INT, won a National Title and Freshman All-American. Some already compare him to Tim Tebow. Everyone knows that Florida likes to air it out, but the running game will determine how well the Gators do this year. JUCO transfer Calvin White to carry the load this and Kyle Livingston will be the spell back. Both should receive multiple touches each game. The WR core is led by SR's Bobby Stewart and Jeff Walker, both coming off great seasons a year ago, were they combined for 99 rec 1669 yards 16 TD. TE Robert Muse will a key roles in the running and passing game. Defensive this year will be switching back to the 3-4. Coach Dean had success with the 3-4 at Penn State and the 1st year at Florida and now has decided to go back. Florida returns all 4 starters from the secondary and both DE starters. However, lose 3 LB to graduation. MLB Dan Meyer and Robert Whitworth both seniors have learned from great players and are ready to play key roles for the Gator defense. The Florida schedule is not favorable this year. With ONLY 5 home games and 7 away or neutral site games, its going to be tough. Florida is on the road the 1st 3 weeks of the season: @ Oklahoma, @ Georgia Tech, @ Alabama. Gators do welcome LSU into the Swap as well as Clemson. Florida finishes the regular season @ FSU.
