Wolverines travels down to the bayou to take on the Tigers and barely escapes after squandering a 13 point fourth quarter lead. A healthy mix of ball control, UM had the ball for 19:22 to LSU's 8:38, and two interceptions allowed Michigan play at it's tempo. In the fourth LSU exerted it's will making big plays down field and forcing Michigan into three and outs. Matt McDaniel ran over center for a one yard score and then connected with James Wrigt for a 20 yard TD pass to put the Bayou Bengals ahead 24-23. Alan Martin came off the bench and orchestrated a three play drive giving Michigan a 5 point lead after its fail two point conversion. He replaced an injured Devin Gardner who went down during the previous drive. Despite the injury Gardner rebounded for his subpar showing against Colorado with 353 total yards and two TDs while connecting with nine Wolverine receivers.

Auburn was overmatched in this contest but it took awhile for the LSU offense to warm up. McDaniel had 2 1st half INTs and only led 10-0 at halftime. LSU picked it up in the second half, had 2 TD passes from McDaniel and a TD run from Jahkari Gore. JC Copeland had 2 key sacks in a big defensive effort. McDaniel threw for 347 yards and 3 TDs. He had 3 INTs also. Next the Tigers will host Mississippi St.

LSU dominated this SEC WEst battle as the Bulldogs found tough sleding in Baton Rouge. Matt McDaniel had another great game opening with 4 1st half TD passes. Josh Joseph, senior, caught 3 of them. Joseph had a slow start this season, but finally seems to be coming into his own. LSU was up 28-0 at the half and it appeared as if MSU had nothing left. They didn't. LSU controlled the Miss. St. offense with multiple sacks from pre-season All Americans JC Copeland and Will Holley. Jakahri Gore added the final TD in the 3rd quarter to make it 42-0 and he finished with 85 yards rushing. McDaniel was 21 for 32 with 348 yards and 5 TDs. Josh Joseph made his claim for player of the week with a 133 yard 4 TD perfomance. Next the Tigers travel to Athens, GA for an interdivision matchup with the University of Georgia.
