A defensive masterpiece was thrown together by the Midshipmen to upset the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes 13-10. Allowing only 192 total yards on offense the Navy D only allowed 48 rushing and 144 passing. Navy had to overcome three turnovers, all fumbles, to take this game.
A very efficient passing game and solid running game helped the offense score and helped control and almost 2-1 time of possession.
    Offensive standouts:
    QB- Bolen 10-18 215yds 1TD
    HB- Carlson 23-100
    WR-Grant 4rec 153yds
    TE-Dawson 3rec 35yds 1TD
    Defense:
    MLB-Francis 7tackles
    ROLB-Davis 7tack 1Ffumb

    #13 Rutgers vs #18 Navy

After the upset of #1 Ohio State last week many were wondering what Navy could do for an encore. Although not quite the defensive dominance put together last week Navy's D allowed 28 pts and 382 total yds.
Navy's offense, while not flashy, was once again very solid and controlling of the ball.
    Offense:
    QB Bolen- 15-21 208yds 3TDs
    HB Carlson- 29-167yds 2TDs
    TE Dawson- 7rec 76yds 2TDs
    Defense:
    Defensive line-3 sacks

    Navy-Air Force

In its traditional rivalry format this game was a battle. Led by their SR QB, Bolen, 14-23 234yds 1TD Navy was able to prevail in the end. The running game saw Carlson gain 109yds on 19 carries and 1TD. Three different recievers all caught four passes apiece. The defense had no standouts yet as a unit stood tall. Only 62yds were allowed on the ground. Air force was only 2-10 on 3rd down conversions. The only turnover of the game was on a kickoff return that Navy recovered and set them up with great field position for an eventual score. The final score of 34-16 does not show how tightly contested this game was.
