With only 9 scholarships remaining, one of them reserved for kicking help, the Blackshirts will be extremely selective and fill in needs. The primary need is o-line help.

    Commits:
    #1. Kevin Walker
    :3stars:
    Guard (#34)
    Bell, Ca
    6 ft. 3 in.
    323 lbs
Summary: Bohoemeth guard will provide much needed depth, in time. Depending on signings, may be a redshirt candidate, however, may also see early playing time at center. New Husker coach PipeHitter531's run-first scheme is perfect for Walker and he :dance nana: when Coach PH personally offered.

    :3stars:
    Tackle (#42 Juco)
    Florissant, Mo
    6 ft. 3 in.
    332 lbs
Summary: Another huge body on the offensive line. B- rating in run blocking and B+ rating in run block strength will correlate to early playing time, according to Coach PH.

    8 Schollies left-1 kicker-1 fullback=only :4stars: players being taken now.

    3. Brad Golden
    :3stars:
    ATH (#19)
    Rialto, CA
    6 ft, 192 lbs
    A- Speed
    B+ Agility

Summary: Will be the fastest WR on the roster the second he steps on campus. Return specialist from Day 1, slot receiver as well. Coach PH really didn't think he had a chance to sign Golden but he saw 4.38 speed and knew he had to at least give it a shot. Golden committed on the spot. There was much rejoicing.

Huge recruiting weekend started off with a bang as Nebraska lands the #1 player on their board, tackle Kevin Simmons and defensive end John Davis. Coach PH informed his heftiest RB that he will most likely be moving to FB next season, as he's gone wild in the weight room and his speed is suffering. Given that, with 5 of 10 scholarships taken and one being reserved for a kicker, Coach PH has 4 left to give.

    4. Kevin Simmons
    :4stars:
    T (#8)
    Des Moines, IA
    6 ft 5 in, 298 lbs

Summary: with B- rankings in everything except run block strength, which is a B, Simmons will likely start from day 1. He was the highest rated player on the offensive line board and Coach PH personally recruited him.

    5. John Davis
    :4stars:
    DE (#14)
    Los Angeles, CA
    6 ft 3 in, 219 lbs

Summary: Davis is the cerebral assassin of this class, bringing a 4.0 GPA and B- Awareness to an already stout Blackshirt Defense. He's a sure tackler with a B- rating there as well. Will challenge for PT early. An outstanding athlete, Davis will also play first base for the Diamond Huskers.

    6. Brian Avery

    HB (#9)
    Hillsboro, TX

With current Husker HB Tony Everson moving to FB next year, the depth chart was enticing enough to Avery to secure his pledge for next season. He will be in the 3 deep rotation at HB next season with B+ speed, acceleration and juke move.
