First of all, a big THANK YOU to ALL of the post-season participants for getting their games and recaps completed so timely! That was a huge effort which EVERYONE in the league benefited from. THANK YOU!

CONGRATS to Alonso (Zo) aka ferocious on a successful season and CONGRATS to James aka cry_havoc and the Indianapolis Colts for winning the 2014 Superbowl! The target has officially moved from the Packers to the Colts. ;)

Please reply to this post when you have completed your re-signings!

    OFF-SEASON RE-SIGNINGS:

Please keep in mind that your cap penalties from 2014 apply to your cap!

The deadline for the re-signings will be Saturday, 1/26/13 @ 8pm EST. You do NOT need to post your re-signings in the forum. Take care of those activities directly in the online CCM. When viewing your Team Salaries screen, there are 2 groups of 1 year contracts... those that are actually expiring and those that will expire after 2015. There is no way to differentiate them at this point until we advance to the next stage. To see who is still under contract for 2015, go to the TEAM SALARIES screen and scroll right to the 2015 CAP column. If the player has a contract amount in the 2015 CAP column, he is still under contract for 2015. This applies ONLY to those players who do NOT appear on your re-signings screen.

    OFF-SEASON RELEASES:

Please keep in mind that there is now a $15M penalty limit per season which includes penalties incurred from releases AND trades.

ALL RELEASES MUST BE POSTED IN THE TEAM MANAGEMENT FORUM. Releases may be performed at any time during the off-season. If you are releasing a player, post your release EXACTLY as follows...

From the TEAM SALARIES screen post the Length, Remaining, Total, and Bonus figures quoted.

    EXAMPLE:

    MLB Dansby... 4/1, 40M/10M = 2.5M penalty (10M Bonus / 4 total years = 2.5M x 1 year remaining = 2.5M Penalty)

    DT Soliai... 6/6, 64.8M/6M = 6M penalty (6M Bonus / 6 total years = 1M x 6 years remaining = 6M Penalty)

    HB Stewart... 5/3, 19.5M/0 = 0 penalty (No Bonus = No Penalty)

    DT Crawford... 4/3, 4.92M/2.08M = 1.56M penalty (2.08M Bonus / 4 total years = 520k x 3 years remaining = 1.56M Penalty)

    SALARY CAP GLITCH:

With the salary cap turned "off" in the online CCM, the salary cap glitch has been nullified and there will no longer be any glitch adjustments moving forward.

    TRADES:

Please keep in mind that there is now a $15M penalty limit per season which includes penalties incurred from releases AND trades.

Trades may now be posted. The cap penalty restriction of $15M has reset with the off-season and will be in full effect for 2015. Cap penalty figures must still be included with your trades. We will take penalties into account when reviewing all off-season trades. Please be aware that the cap penalties showing in the Team Salaries screen are accurate, however, the YEAR is not. The 2014 cap penalty figure is actually your 2015 cap penalties total and the 2015 cap penalty figure is actually your 2016 cap penalties.

Please reply with any questions regarding the re-signings phase here as they will be answered more quickly here by the rest of the group than if you send your inquiries to me, Eddie, or Jim via YIM.

Sorry, I relased SS Wilson before seeing this. I was scrolling thru my roster, not the salaries page, and just decided to dump him.
On another note, when you go to "My Actions", it tells you who you need to re-sign for the coming season. At least it did on my page. The guys listed were exactly the guys who had come up for negotiation during the season.
No one else has this or am I misunderstanding again? :(

My list also included some guys whose contracts were up that did not try to negotiate with me during the season. I believe the only players who did this were guys I signed as FAs during the season.

You did get the penalty correct in your release post, so that's good. But with all due respect, we have had the same example of the proper way to post releases at the beginning of everyone's release thread since the cap was shut off. ;)

I think I may be misunderstanding your point here. That is exactly the way it is supposed to work. If you are referring to the part about not being able to tell the difference between players just entering their final year and those who's contracts have just expired; I can use free agents signed during the 2014 season as an example. If a team signed a free agent during the season, they would not show up in the in season resignings, but may show up to be eligible to be resigned at the end of the year. Players traded for that were in their final contract year is another example of this. So basically if an owner was not paying attention to their roster and who was due to expire, before the season actually ended, there is the potential that they could have an expiring contract and not know it, because that player didn't make himself available for resigning. I know I personally saw this with a couple of players I traded for in season 1. Their contracts expired after that first season, but never gave me the option to offer them a contract and resign them, so they just became free agents in the first offseason.

I'm guessing this can't be done through the website, right?

Actually you are supposed to be able to. I've never done it, so I don't know how reliable it is. But if you view a player's card, there should be the option to resign under "Take Action".

I tried to re-sign a few of my players through the website the first season. It may be coincidence, but all three refused my offers.

Figures it would have a major bug like that, lol. I've resigned all my guys, who truly have 1 year remaining, I wanted to during this year. I just tried logging onto the site to resign some of the guys who have 1 year left heading into the 2015 season, but I guess I can't yet. So that sucks. Hopefully I can get on my girls tablet this weekend sometime to do it bc I have some big names who i definitely dont want to lose heading into the 2016 season.

Yeah, right now is the resignings phase for contracts that just expired (after the 2014 season). Players whose contracts expire after the upcoming 2015 season will not be able to be resigned until after the simmed 2015 season.

Oh, okay. I thought they were going to be able to be resigned after this stage of the 2015 offseason. That's cool then. I'll be able to do that Monday sometime then!! So not really gonna miss anything really, except the draft of course.
