Bama rolls on once again, this time against Vandy winning 51-19.
The Bama offense didn't have to do much in this game. Backup RB Dee Hart took 2 KO returns back for TDs and Bama's D had 2 INTs and a fumble recovery. Bama's new Freshman Dual threat QB Mike Green keeps defenses on their toes at all times. While he does miss an open WR every now and then, he has a solid enough arm to make most throws. His feet are what can really hurt a defense tho. With him and 91 OVR Blake Sims in the backfield, Bama will be hard to stop.
FCS West gon get raped.
Gators firing on all cylinders roll 57-14 QB Jacoby Brissett celebrating his 2nd TD pass of the game Gainesville, FL- The Gator were slow out of the gate last week against Idaho as they found themselves down 6-3 at the half but the offense was able to get it going and the Gators won the game. This week the offense wasn't messing around this week against Eastern Michigan and it was also the first game back with the 4-3 defense. Eastern Michigan won the toss and elected to kick and the Florida offense would go to work. The Gator offense looked sharp as they flew down the field and Jeff Driskel who was filling in for one play while Brissett had to leave due to an injury found wideout Latroy Pittman for a 51 yard touchdown 7-0 Gators less than a minute in. The first Eastern Michigan drive was uneventful and they were forced to punt. On the following Florida drive Brissett back from injury hooked up with true freshman wide receiver Bruce Johnson for a 13 yard touchdown and Johnson's first of his career to make it 14-0. Eastern Michigan didn't lay down in fact they took it to the Gator defense and marched right down the field and scored on a 2 yard run from Juwan Lewis 14-7. The Eagles excitement quickly ended as Mack Brown ran 55 yards untouched for a touchdown to push the Gator lead back to 14 to end the 1st. In the 2nd quarter it was all Florida as they scored 27 unanswered points on there way to a 48-7 halftime lead. The first touchdown was a Bruce Johnson 48 yard touchdown then another passing touchdown from Brissett to Quinton Dunbar. Then back to back field goals from Kyle Christy with the last one coming with :33 left in the half but the scoring wasn't done as on the 3rd play of the EMU drive quarterback Tyler Benz was picked off by Marcus Roberson and returned 49 yards for a pick 6. The Florida offense and defensive starters were pulled at the half in favor for the second teamers who were able to shut out Eastern Michigan until early in the 4th as Juwan Lewis found the endzone again. On the flipside the back up offense was able to score a touchdown in the 3rd behind the legs of fullback Jermaine Stanford. After a punt that pinned the EMU offense inside the 2 and the Gator defense was able to get in and tackle Juwan Lewis in the endzone for the safety to give us the final score 57-14. Next up for Florida is a trip to Knoxville to take on rival Tennessee for the Gators first road test of the season. FCS East, OH JOY!....
If I get broken tackles or scored on, I will rage
Cal wins, 63-0. It took intentionally running backwards to keep it under 70. Hooray FCS teams!
Oregon overcomes deficit with 21 point 4th quarter If you were the type of fan that enjoyed seeing exciting offense and great quarterback play this was one game to avoid. Both QBs struggled mightily in this game and it looked like Stanford would pull off the upset until the Ducks scored 21 unanswered points in the final 5:01 of the 4th to escape with the win. The game went scoreless for the 1st and the majority of the second quarter until Stanford scored the first points of the game on a 10 yard pass from Cardinal QB Eric Schultz to WR TJ Pleasent. Schultz could not have thrown a better pass as it was just out of the reach of a Duck defender. Stanford added to their lead midway through the 3rd when HB Barry Sanders Jr. channeled this HOF father with an excellent 25 yard touchdown run in which he shrugged off a backfield tackle from FS Reggie Daniels. On the defensive side of the ball Stanford was absolutely dominating with Oregon receivers not being able to get themselves open all game long. Finally Oregon got on the board halfway through the final quarter when Bennett kept the ball on an option play and managed to break the tackle of Cardinal LOLB Blake Leuders for a 4 yard touchdown run. Oregon tied the game on their next drive and the big play came on a 45 yard pass to WR Tacoi Sumler. Sumler had a step on his man but the pass from Bennett seemed to die in the air allowing the Stanford defenders to catch up. Somehow the diminutive WR managed to come down with the ball even though he suffered an injury on the play. On the next play RB Bryon Marshall knotted up the score with a 3 yard run. Stanford got the ball back and with all 3 time outs they seemed in a good position to try to secure the win. After Sanders converted a 3rd and long on the ground, Schultz threw an errant pass that was picked off by redshirt freshman Brandon Robinson who returned it 36 yards for the touchdown, giving Oregon their first lead of the game. It was Robinson's first interception as a member of the Ducks and he added another as he picked off Schultz to ice the game for the home team. GG JohnnyClutch
Ugh that guy was a freshman and he made both picks.
