This game was not pretty, but WSU was able to get the job done. The offense sputtered all game long, with Connor Halliday throwing four interceptions while the running game could not get started. Star RB Ricky Galvin went down early with an injury, and the Cougs were forced to go with the legend, HB Chester Su a. Su a had trouble running the ball as he gained a total of 14 yards on 19 attempts. It seemed like every time Su a got the ball a Bruin defender or defenders were in the back field. The Bruins started with the game scoring the first 10 points, but the Cougars clawed their way back into tying the game before intermission. In the third quarter UCLA continually gave the ball to the Cougs in excellent field position. On the Cougs first drive in the second half Halliday threw a pick, on the second Halliday threw a TD to TE Aaron Dunn to give the Cougs a 17-10 lead. In the fourth quarter, Hundley fell apart as he threw back to back interceptions, the first resulting in a pick 6 by Jacques Holt, while the second ended in a field goal.

The Mountaineers faced a tough match against the Hokie D. A sack turned fumble in the endzone was recovered by the Mountaineers to get them started in the second. Then backup QB Athey came in and put together 2 scoring drives to jump start the offense. With the score 27-21 VT at the half, West Virgina would fall apart. Athey threw 4 interceptions, and WVU was shut out in the second half. The offense will have time to practice for 2 weeks before they hit the field again against UCLA.

    #4 Oregon - 44
    #13 USC - 21

Oregon QB Bryan Bennett has a big day as Oregon stays undefeated. Bennett had 247 yards passing and 99 yards rushing and 4 total touchdowns, 2 passing and 2 running. The Ducks needed a big game out of Bennett with HB Lache Seastrunk injured for most of the first half. Oregon had no problem moving the ball for most of the game but was careless with the ball and turned it over 4 times, but the defense made key stops all day held the USC offense in check. The Ducks get a week off next week before going on the road to play Arizona State in week 7.

95+ SPD/ACC/BTK backs just shouldn't exist. Someone with elite speed shouldn't be able to run through a brick wall as well.
