This game was utter BS. I am glad my parents are coming into town tonight so I can get away from this game for a day or two. Colorado's TE Kyle Salvin caught 11 passes for 221 yards and scored 2 TDs as he pretty much raped my secondary. WSU's Connor Halliday played crappy for most of the game, especially in the first half when he threw three of his four picks. His fourth pick was the most costly. In the third quarter with the Cougs down 13 he threw into double coverage, while the Cougs were near the goal line, and the ball was picked off by the Colorado DB and he took it back 95 yards for the score. Halliday turned it around in the second half, but for the pick six, but the Cougs could never close the deal, pulling within six early in the fourth quarter. In addition WSU's starting RB Ricky Galvin was injured for three weeks, while last season's top recruit Curtis Henderson injured his shoulder and is out 9 weeks.

    Kansas - 26
    #22 San Diego State - 14

First things first, coach Aarondramp would like to dedicate this win to the true honey badger - his daughter. She is an undersized 3 month old but just destroyed open heart surgery. The doctors said she would have a breathing tube for a day or so. Nope, she got it out as soon as she woke up after surgery. They said we would be in the ICU for 2 or 3 days afterwards. Nope, she got out the next day. They told her she would be in the hospital for 5-10 days. Nope, she should be going home tomorrow after just three days. She basically told open heart surgery, "Thanks for fixing the whole in my heart, but no thanks to the lengthy recovery." Thanks to everyone that asked about her. She is doing great, and we should be going home tomorrow.

With the Jayhawks' coach's daughter in the hospital and every other coach - except for dakota7 - doubting them, they went out an put on an impressive performance. SDSU shut down the option early, so Kansas had to diversify their attack, but they stayed true to their running attack, and their defense was good enough.

HB Darrian Miller got the scoring started with a 26 yard touchdown run. Right after Kansas went up 10-0, SDSU came back with a 79 yard touchdown pass to Jay Waddell to make it 10-7. However, Kansas came back with a big play of their own when backup HB Brandon Bourbon broke off a 75 yarder to make it 17-7. Kansas then kicked a 58 yard field goal with no time left in the first half to go up 20-7. The second half saw several turnovers but very few points. SDSU scored a short TD run to make it a 20-14 game, but they wouldn't score again. A touchdown run for Kansas with 3:25 left made it 26-14 and essentially capped the game.

Statistically, the Kansas defense was efficient with the longest run of the game being 9 yards and holding SDSU's QB to 10-22 passing with 3 interceptions. The bright spot for SDSU was JaY Waddell who had 4 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Ultimately, Kansas' rushing game was the difference. They ran the ball 44 times and averaged 6.6 yards per carry. Both of their running backs went over 130 yards, and they only passed the ball 10 times.

Good game OsirisMonster - my guys made a few more plays, but it was a fun game.
