    Texas Wins Battle of Unbeatens

A rough game for the longhorns who got off to a slow start. Starting QB Connor Woods was knocked out of the game early. In a closer game than usual, the longhorns played their starters through the 3rd quarter which ended up being costly for the horns. Senior starting tailback and Heisman race leader Traylon Shead suffered a season ending injury. With star WR Mike Davis still out with injury, Texas Finished up the game without all 3 of their best Offensive players. In the forth quarter, Texas was forced to return their starting defense unit on the field when their only remaining HalfBack started playing linebacker to spell tired players.

The Speed and Playmaking ability of Shead is a huge loss for the Longhorns who have upcoming games with rivals T A&M and Ohio St. With David Reid the only other active HB on the roster, QB Brian Holman or muscle bound WR Darius White will be forced to spell Reid in the running game.

After 5 tries, the Illini have finally become bowl eligible after a 41-20 thrashing of the hapless Purdue Boilermakers. Chandler Whitmer would toss 4 TD passes in the first half, and then a 5th on the opening drive of the 3rd before being pulled.

Well, the EA servers screwed us out of an early advance so we'll advance tonight after the Wisky/Iowa game.

HB White came out in a huge way for the Badgers. He scored the games first two TDs from 38 and 11 yards out. QB Livingston then beat a CB blitz and hit Ward for a 64 yard score. Iowa would respond with their own big play, a Shumpert 76 yard catch for 6. But another White TD and FG before the half made the score 31-10, and the Badgers felt comfortable.

They even began the 2nd half with a 5 minute consuming drive, but it only ended with a FG. Iowa's big man Shumpert would again score from way out, this time 80 yards. Then Iowa would pick Livingston off and return it for 6. All of a sudden, Iowa was within 10 with plenty of time left. But White would come up big again, as he converted 3rd down after 3rd down and even knocked in a late score to give the Badgers the win. White's huge day includes 29 carries, 149 yards, 7 broken tackles, 3 rec, 52 receiving yards and 1 TD reception. The Badgers have one last OOC game to play, and are hoping not to have the debacle they had last year.

    #1 Wisconsin 44 - #22 Iowa 31
