The Bruins have a young offense led my QB Mark Downs, a RS Freshman and RS Senior Jordan James who is a very solid back with a talented young stable of backs behind him. Both the receiving core and the TEs/FBs are young and look to have solid potential. The offensive line is average and is the only part of the offense that figures to influence recruiting.

The defense is more veteran than the offense and also will be the focus of recruiting in 2014. UCLA already has a commitment from DE Jeff Clark *** (El Monte, CA) and will look to further solidify the defense with several LB and DB prospects.

UCLA was very inconsistent to start the year - they beat a BCS team on the road in Virginia, but then stumbled at home and lost to an FCS team. An ugly win over Oregon State the following week wasn't enough to save the previous coach's job.

The Pac-10 looks fairly weak this year outside of Oregon and USC and winning 3 more games and reaching a bowl game seems very possible for the Bruins.

    Recuriting: Seniors 11 Roster 70 = 14 scholarships

    Needs: OLB

    UCLA has commitments from
    DE Jeff Clark ***
    WR Jerry Wilson ***
    K James Johnson *
